The Angler's Regrets (Story 7 - Part 1)

With Venno: 

The Velociraptor was running down the long halls of an old factory that had been long since run down, located on the outskirts of Terronto. 

She cursed herself, having lost sight of the Anglerfish, Dexx Angle. 

She had managed to track him down, having heard that he was back in Terronto for a little while before making another grand escape. 

The Anglerfish was apparently looking for an old antique that had been hidden in the manager’s office in the old factory, having found out from Scott that it was worth thousands of dollars since it was so old. 

And this time, she GOING to catch him. 

Venno snarled to herself, hoping that she wasn’t too late to catch him, knowing that he was much smarter and clever than she first initially thought. 

She was hoping that she would be able to stake out in the office until he got there, catching him just as he was about to find the artifact, but had been running late considering Barry had wanted to speak to her. 

Venno had no objections about it talking to the Wold Hound, but she knew that if Dexx had been in Terronto for so long without making an appearance, then that meant he was most likely planning another big heist before making his escape. 

Venno shook her head as she ran into the large factory floor room, rushing by some old barrels with warning labels that she didn’t have enough time to read.

Wanting to get out of the old factory fast and with Dexx finally caught, Venno ran up the metal stairs, up to the second floor and down some more hallways before spotting the old manager’s office just down the hall. 

Pushing herself to run faster, Venno made it to the door and burst into the room. 

She gasped in shock when she saw the Anglerfish standing on the other side of the old desk, holding what appeared to be an old statue that was covered in many layers of dust. 

Dexx jumped in fright when the door slammed open, but then chuckled and smiled when he saw that it was Venno. 

“Ah, we meet again, Ms.Rapter. How have you been doing since we last spoke?” asked Dexx casually, glancing down at the statue and examining it. 

Venno snarled, about to grab for her handgun, but stopped herself, knowing that he was wanted alive. 

Shaking her head and regaining herself, Venno glared at Dexx from where she stood, knowing that the only way out of the room was from the doorway that was behind her. 

“I’ve been doing just fine, Mr.Angle. Now then, you know why I’m here, and quite frankly, I won’t be letting you escape that easily like you did last time” said Venno, clenching her fists in anger. 

Dexx just chuckled and shrugged. 

“Oh, I remember. How could I forget the day I first met you?” said Dexx fondly, looking down at the statue in his hand. 

He then quickly blew the dust off the statue, revealing that it was made of some sort of metal. It was a statue of some sort of Monster creature that was on all fours, a head that appeared to be made of a skull, a long tail and two arms with a large single claw at the end of each on its back. 

“Isn’t it pretty? I hear this creature actually exists somewhere, the only one of her kind. But this statue isn’t as beautiful as you. It’s merely just an artifact that I’m here to add to my collection. And to believe that it was just sitting on top of this desk for quite some time” said Dexx, shrugging before glancing over at Venno, smirking.
