Venno Rapter ~ A Hellish Series ~ Series 1

The Python's Return (Story 15 - Part 3)

With Venno: 

The Velociraptor and Wolf Hound both walked into the saloon, Venno scowling while Barry was smiling. 

Looking around, they could see several denizens sitting around, some talking to each other while others were sitting and drinking on their own. 

Slowly walking and glancing around, the sound of a piano playing up on stage, Venno and Barry looked for anyone who looked like the Python that was on the wanted poster Barry had just pulled out. 

Venno’s eyes suddenly widened when she saw him, the Velociraptor trying to refrain from growling too loudly. 

Eric, her ex boyfriend, was sitting alone at the table in front of the stage. He looked the same as he had when they last saw each other, only he now had a burned scar on the right side of his face from what Venno could see. He was wearing a dark green button up shirt, and a matching hat. His head was slumped down on the table, and he was holding a half empty glass in his hand.

His hat was laying askew on his head, his hair having grown longer since the last time she’s seen him, the ends going as far down as his upper back.  

“Is that him?” asked Barry, the Wolf Hound looking over at where Venno was glaring. 

The Velociraptor nodded as she stretched her arms, ready for whatever the Python might do. 

“That’s right. Come on, I’m gonna need your help in case I try killing him said Venno, feeling some of her toxic venom saliva drip out of her mouth. 

Barry frowned worriedly, wondering if Jerry sent him with Venno just to make sure she remained calm, or if he thought the Velociraptor actually needed the help. 

Walking over, Venno halted just in front of the table Eric was sleeping on, the Velociraptor’s big toe claw tapping against the floor in annoyance as she crossed her arms. 

Despite not having visible ears, the Python quickly lifted his head at the familiar sound of a claw tapping against the wooden floor. 

“Huh, never thought I’d see you again after our altercation months ago. Thanks for burning my face” said the Python, quickly recognizing the Velociraptor before he turned his lazy gaze down to his glass. 

Venno scowled as Eric took a slow drink from his glass, Barry walked over and crossed his arms, the Wolf Hound remaining silent for the time being. 

“Be lucky I didn’t do worse. I could have used my big toe claws to gut you alive” said Venno bitterly, rolling her eyes and glancing away. 

Eric just chuckled before he glanced back up at Venno, the Python frowning and raising an eyebrow. 

“Is this your new boyfriend?” asked Eric, scowling when he saw Barry. 

Barry looked taken aback while Venno remained calm, shaking her head. 

The Wolf Hound was about to say something in defense, but Venno managed to quickly beat him to it. 

“No, he’s a friend of mine. I’m seeing someone else” said Venno, referring to Dexx, but not mentioning him. 

Eric hummed in thought before shrugging, deciding it wasn’t worth his time being jealous again. 

“Happy to hear you found someone better than me, if I’m being honest” said Eric, the Python seeming to smile genuinely a little before sighing and taking a drink from his glass. 

Venno raised an eyebrow in confusion, unsure of what to make of Eric’s change in behavior, but she quickly shook her head and regained herself. 

“Now, before you ask why we’re here, I’ll just tell you right now. Me and my friend are both Bounty Hunters, and we work for the Bounty Hunter Agency” said Venno, resting a hand on her hip as Barry nodded in agreement.
