Brother's Rage (Story 8 - Part 2)

With Venno: 

The Velociraptor and her sister both made it to the old factory, the two standing just outside and across the street. 

Slendithera glanced over at her older sister and saw that she was silently glaring at the building.

“Do you really think Rad would intentionally steal from the most infamous casino owners in the entire city of Los Hellus?” asked Slendithera, her voice causing Venno to jump in fright slightly.

Venno could only sigh and shake her head.

“Come on, let’s go in and see if he’s there. The sooner we find out if he was the thief, the better. The eyewitnesses said they saw a Toxic Sludge entering this old factory, which means this would be the best place to start” said Venno simply. 

Slendithera nodded in agreement, the two sisters walking across the street and entering the building. 

Glancing around, Venno and Slendithera both managed to make their way through the factory, going down the halls until they found themselves in the large factory floor room. 

This was the same factory she got injured in during her chase with Dexx, the Velociraptor having recalled the explosion that nearly got her. 

“Huh, they must have cleaned the place since getting me out” said Venno, mostly muttering to herself, but her sister heard and nodded in agreement.

“Yeah, or maybe Rad cleaned it out because he thinks it’s the best hideout he could find?” asked Slendithera, shrugging. 

Venno frowned, but nodded. 

“That’s true. Let’s go see if he’s here” said Venno, turning and walking over to where the stairs had been to go up to the second floor. 

Seeing that the stairs had collapsed, Venno decided to jump up, the small jets strapped to her outer thighs activating and flying her up to the balcony. 

Slendithera, on the other hand, managed to climb up quickly with ease. 

Unknown to them, something had quickly and quietly rushed by some of the fallen machines that were behind them, having taken the shape of a snake before slithering off. 

Gesturing for her sister to follow, Venno guided Slendithera down the halls, the two making sure to check any room they passed by only to find it empty with no Toxic Sludge to be found. 

It wasn’t until they made it to the old office that they were finally able to find something. 

Opening the door, Venno and Slendithera both gasped in shock when they saw that the room was full of jewelry and cash. 

The sisters both exchanged glances and nodded, the two walking over to examine what they had found. 

“Looks like the thief is, or was, here. There’s a lot of jewelry, most likely stolen from the Grand Harpy Casino and Hotel” said Venno, picking up a necklace that was covered with the much too familiar toxic sludge that she and Slendithera both knew. 

There was a slight sting from the toxic sludge burning her hand, but she ignored it considering it didn’t hurt too much. 

“There’s also some cash. I wonder how he managed to get it all here from Los Hellus” said Slendithera. 

Venno glanced over at her sister and tilted her head to the side. 

“Well he’s a Toxic Sludge, remember? That means he can change shapes. Maybe he changed into something that can fly while the cash and jewelry were in his body” said Venno worriedly as she put the necklace down.
