The Mountain of Secrets (Story 12 - Part 2)

With Venno: 

The Velociraptor was waiting for Barry outside of the winter clothing shop, the two having made it to the town at the bottom of the Ice Cavern Mountain. 

Not even a second after they had gotten off the train, Barry had immediately admitted that it was freezing and had requested they go get him something warmer to wear. 

Venno sighed, the Velociraptor pulling up the hood of her jacket so that she wasn’t feeling the cold too much. 

When she had been choosing a jacket, she had made sure to take one that had two holes in the hood so that her horns would be able to stick out. 

Venno smirked when she saw Barry stepping out of the shop, the Wolf Hound now wearing a pair of brown winter boots, a thick dark blue jacket, and a simple black winter hat. 

“So, do you admit that you were wrong when we told you to pick something warmer to wear, right?” asked Venno, crossing her arms. 

Barry just scowled, the Wolf Hound remaining silent before sighing.
“Ok, yes, I was wrong. You, Scott and Fiona were right” said Barry, his arms crossed. 

Venno chuckled before looking up at the large mountain ahead of them, the Velociraptor now frowning. It was around the same height as another mountain called ‘Everest’ had been, before parts of it crumbled away due to the shockwave of the blast from the meteor thousands of years ago. How, this new mountain had formed, replacing ‘Everest’ as the tallest mountain on earth.

“We have a lot of mountain to search if we want to find this bounty” muttered Venno, mostly to herself but was loud enough for Barry to also hear. 

Barry nodded, the Wolf Hound taking off the new backpack he had just bought as well. 

“I made sure to also buy whatever else we needed, just in case” said Barry, slinging the backpack onto his back once more. 

Venno raised an eyebrow in confusion, silently impressed that Barry had actually bought things they would need in order to climb the mountain. 

“Well let’s just hope his base isn’t too far up the mountain. Surely he wouldn’t climb all the way to the top with whatever supplies he needed” said Venno. 

Barry frowned and nodded in agreement. 

“Let’s get going, then” said Barry, the Wolf Hound walking ahead, wanting to get started on the hunt. 

Venno quickly followed, the Velociraptor hoping they could find the Grizzly Bear as soon as they could. 

Time Skip: 

Venno and Barry had barely made any progress in climbing the mountain, the two struggling to walk through the high layers of snow. 

It had started snowing shortly after they had started, so it made it harder for them to also see where they were going. 

When Venno looked up, the Velociraptor having been looking down to see where she was stepping, she immediately got frustrated and worried. 

“Hey Barry, how about we use that rope you got and tie ourselves together. It would be safer, considering it looks like it gets steeper up ahead” suggested Venno, shouting over the sound of the wind. 

Barry frowned as he looked up, the Wolf Hound seeing that Venno was right. 

“Alright, you tie one end around your waist, and I’ll tie the other end around mine” said Barry, taking the rope out and handing one end over to Venno.
