The CEO of the Bounty Hunter Agency (Story 20 - Part 1)

With Dexx: 

The Anglerfish was walking down the docks, on his way to his Terronto hideout. 

Dexx was smiling, having spent the night with Venno ever since they fell overboard at the CEO’s ball, which had been hosted on a riverboat. 

The Anglerfish sighed, having finally realized that he wasn’t meant to be a notorious thief, but to become a Bounty Hunter. 

If his mother was still around, then she probably would be proud that he had decided to make a change and use his skills for good. 

And she would most likely be proud that he had finally found the girl of his dreams, that being Venno, and was starting a family with her. 

Even though the Velociraptor was pregnant, she had gone to the Bounty Hunter Agency to do some last minute work early with Jerry to prepare the older Spider for his retirement. 

Dexx had never thought that he would actually meet the infamous Jerry ‘Sniper’ Rifele, unless he was actually caught and brought in by a Bounty Hunter. 

Despite having heard how scary the older Spider can be when angered, Dexx could tell that Jerry’s harsh personality was a result of something that had happened in his past. 

Dexx’s thoughts then went on to Venno’s parents, to whom Dexx never actually met until the night before. 

The Anglerfish could tell that Venno’s father was a little hesitant to welcome Dexx into the family, just yet, but Venno’s mother was more than happy to welcome him right away. 

Dexx remembered meeting Slendithera back when Venno sprained her ankle, and he unexpectedly met Rad when he stepped in and stopped those Sharks from starting a fight with him. 

Dexx quickly snapped out of his thoughts when he realized he had made it to the end of the dock, the Anglerfish coming up to the old warehouse building his hideout was located in. 

Walking over to the door and about to take the key out of his pocket to unlock it, Dexx suddenly halted when he suddenly got a strange feeling that something bad was about to happen. 

Dexx didn’t even get a chance to turn around as he felt a large, strong claw wrap around his neck and lift him up so he was now face to face with the last denizen he had expected to see again. 

“Mr.Krabiss, nice seeing you up on the surface” said Dexx sarcastically, the Anglerfish barely able to speak with the claw clenched around his throat. 

The Spider Crab in question chuckled, but Dexx was able to tell that he was not happy to see him. 

“Likewise, Dexx Angle. Now then, care to tell me where my ruby is? Either way, I won’t be letting you go, so don’t go raising any hope” said Mr.Krabiss, the Spider Crab scowling as he narrowed his single good eye, his other eye covered by an eyepatch. 

Dexx recalled what had happened the last he had met the Spider Crab, the Anglerfish having managed to stab it out with his sickle before making his escape. 

The Anglerfish then realized that Mr.Krabiss wasn’t alone, the Spider Crab having brought at least six of his guards, too, all of them holding spears.

“Well, I hate to disappoint you, but I don’t think I want to return your ruby if it means I won’t be let go. Haven't you heard? I’m giving up on being a thief and I’m becoming a Bounty Hunter. They dropped my bounty” said Dexx, the Anglerfish glaring at the Spider Crab as he tried to pry away the large claw that was still around his neck. 

Dexx winced in pain as the claw tightened, the Anglerfish feeling the pain in his lungs from the lack of air. 

“Nice try, Dexx Angle. I know what game you play. Do you really think I would believe you? You’re a notorious thief, and you have been known to lie. I still hold that grudge from when you nearly destroyed my underwater base, too, after you made your escape” said Mr.Krabiss, the Spider Crab growling angrily.
