Blind Love (Story 14 - Part 5)

With Venno: 

The Velociraptor was still talking about how to be a Bounty Hunter and how to properly find and catch bounties when she was suddenly interrupted by an announcement being made by DJ. 

“Sorry for interrupting everyone, but I’ve got a very important announcement I’d like to make” started the male Neon, trying to contain his excitement. 

Everyone in the room all paused to listen to what DJ had to say, giving the male Neon their full attention as Venno took a quick sip from her drink. 

“First of all, I’d like to specially thank someone for helping me and my girlfriend get back our dance club. Give it up for Rapter, everyone” called DJ excitedly, pressing a button on his DJ booth which turned a light so it was shining down on Venno. 

Venno was startled by this as everyone turned and started clapping and cheering for the Velociraptor. 

All Venno could do was smile and wave, a little happy to see how many denizens were grateful for her help in returning the dance club back to what it once was. 

As the spotlight shone off her, allowing Venno to sigh in relief, the Velociraptor quickly glanced over at Keven only to find that he had attempted to scooch a little closer to Venno to get in the spotlight too, the male Velociraptor smirking and waving. 

Keven noticed this and quickly scooted his stool away, giving Venno her space back as she let out a snarled growl and glared at him. 

“Now then, I’d like to also announce that we would like to start our couples dance competition right now, to show how grateful we are by celebrating Rapter’s success in helping us” announced DJ, causing some denizens to cheer excitedly. 

Venno was surprised by this, the Velociraptor having thought DJ and Roxxane had said they would start in just an hour, but it had only been a few minutes. 

Quickly glancing over at Keven, Venno smirked when she saw that he now looked afraid at the thought of having to dance with a crowd watching. 

“Come on, Keven, let’s go do this thing and show them that we’re the perfect pair” said Venno, the Velociraptor quickly drinking the remainder of her drink before getting up and stretching her arms. 

Keven remained seated, the male Velociraptor frowning worriedly as he tried to hide his face. 

“Hmm, no, I don’t think I will. I’m pretty sure I might have pulled a muscle in his leg when we were running along the rooftops earlier today. How about we just remain seated here and watch everyone else dance” said Keven, not looking at Venno. 

Venno frowned, having hoped to actually get a chance to dance again, even though it had to be with a partner. 

Before Venno could take a seat in defeat, disappointment clearly making itself known on her face, she was suddenly startled by a hand grabbing her shoulder. 

Quickly whirling around and snarling, Venno was about to raise her hand to scratch whoever grabbed her shoulder when she suddenly halted when she saw that it was only Dexx. 

The Velociraptor’s thoughts quickly went back to when they last saw each other, the Anglerfish having given her a quick kiss before leaving. 

“Dexx, what are you doing here? I thought you said you wouldn’t steal anything from DJ and Roxxane” said Venno, frowning and crossing her arms, making sure not to speak too loudly. 

Dexx just chuckled, shrugging as Keven glanced over in annoyance and confusion. 

“I’m not here to steal from them. I just decided to do something I don’t normally do and put my heist on hold when I saw you coming in with that other Velociraptor sitting over there. I just wanted to make sure you would be alright, since you don’t seem like you wanted to rush into a relationship” said Dexx quietly, the Anglerfish hiding his anger well as he crossed his arms and glanced away, blushing lightly.
