Top Bounty (Story 3 - Part 2)

With Venno: 

The Velociraptor was in the large parkour training room that the Bounty Hunter Agency had under their building. 

There were several other Bounty Hunters who were also training, but they mostly kept to themselves. 

The Velociraptor was suddenly startled by a sudden announcement, causing everyone in the training room to stop what they were doing to listen. 

“All Bounty Hunter, please come up to the meeting room for new assignments” said Jerry ‘Sniper’ Rifele lazily into the speaker system. 

Venno, along with a couple of other Bounty Hunters, began making their way to the elevator, heading all the way up to the meeting room. 

As the elevator took them up, Venno began to zone out, smiling lightly to herself as she crossed her arms. 

She had been working for the Bounty Hunter Agency for about two months now, and she had managed to bring in quite a lot of bounties in that short amount of time. 

She had seen the leaderboard in the meeting room, having found out about it the day after she became a Bounty Hunter, having successfully found and caught Henrietta Cooper. 

The Velociraptor sighed happily to herself, just picturing the leaderboard. 

Of course, Jerry was at the very top, Barry being in second for the second most bounties brought in. 

Since Venno was new, she was at the bottom of the leaderboard, but she was quickly catching up with the amount of bounties she had managed to find and bring in.

Venno shook her head when the elevator doors opened, allowing them all to exit and walk into the large meeting room where Jerry was already seated with several other Bounty Hunters waiting. 

Venno took a seat in her usual spot, but then jumped in fright when a familiar Wolf Hound took a seat beside her. 

“Oh, you’re back?” asked Venno, having not seen Barry for about two months since his temporary suspension from bounty hunting. 

The Wolf Hound huffed, his arms crossed as he glanced away, ears lowered slightly. 

“No thanks to you and your ability to actually find that Hen in just a few hours after becoming a Bounty Hunter” said Barry, speaking quietly so as to not anger their boss. 

Venno chuckled, sitting back in her seat as she crossed her arms. 

“Oh, I’m sorry. Did it take you about a month to finally catch and bring in YOUR first bounty?” mocked Venno teasingly, sounding sarcastic. 

Barry growled, about to snap something back, but sat upright when Jerry clapped his hands. 

“Alright, you all know the drill. A file for everyone with all the new bounties, but if you’d like, you can go choose an older one up on the ‘Wanted Poster Wall of Fame’” announced the older Spider, swiftly lighting a new cigarette as he shoved the file of folders over to the center of the large table where barely anyone could reach them. 

Several Bounty Hunters muttered under their breaths about hating it when Jerry did that with the folders while others decided to go up to the wall instead, not wanting to attempt to reach across the large circular table. 

Sighing and knowing that she would be unable to reach the folders since they were in the center of the large circular table, Venno got up and decided to walk over to the wall of Wanted Posters to see what older bounties it had to offer. 

She had taken a couple of older bounties before, but they did take longer to catch since they had been posted years ago, long before she moved to the city.
