The Python's Return (Story 15 - Part 4)

With Venno: 

The Velociraptor and Wolf Hound were both standing across the table from Eric and his mother, the two Snakes now sitting while the two Bounty Hunters remained standing. 

“So, you’re a Bounty Hunter now, huh? And you’re here to take my son away” asked Mrs.Fang, her arms crossed as she just stared down at the table, having calmed down from her initial rant as to why Eric could have done nothing wrong to warrant his arrest into BHA custody.

Venno nodded, the Velociraptor frowning. 

“That’s right. And you’re seriously saying your son did nothing wrong? How about when he literally assaulted me after I broke up with him?” demanded Venno, now scowling as she glared at the Rattlesnake.

She was generally nice, but right now, she was being a real stubborn piece of work.  

Mrs.Fang waved it off, the Rattlesnake frowning. 

“A misunderstanding. He didn’t mean to get so angry at you. You should have seen him when he came back from the police station after they let him go a week later. He was sobbing his eyes out wailing your name” said the Rattlesnake, patting her son’s shoulder with a smile. 

Eric seemed to give his mother a low hiss from deep within his throat, the Python glaring at her with a bright blush completely taking over his face. 

Barry couldn’t help but snicker, the Wolf Hound quickly silencing himself and returning to a somewhat neutral expression the second Venno elbowed him.

“It took two weeks of him crying your name for him to finally get over that stage of grief. After that, he went all ‘goth and moody’, if that’s the right word” said the Rattlesnake, scowling as she turned to glare at her son, having recalled the things he said to her and her husband months ago, after the altercation. 

Venno and Barry remained silent as they both exchanged glances, the two finding this more humorous now when they saw the way Eric was pulling at his hair, the Python looking as though he wanted to bang his head against the table. 

Before anyone could say anything else, though, the saloon doors burst open. 

This caused everyone inside to look over, startled and afraid. 

“You didn’t have to kick the doors open” muttered a familiar Hyena as he walked past Slendithera, the Porcelain Monster standing at the doorway with her hands on her hips. 

“Too late for that. Anyway, hey Venno, Barry! We’re making progress with finding the thief” said Slendithera, the Porcelain Monster calling out to the two Bounty Hunters as she quickly rushed over to them, leaving the Hyena to sigh and shake his head before following. 

“That’s great, Slendithera. Now, how about you both leave and continue searching” said Venno, the Velociraptor grabbing her sister’s shoulders and turning her around, about to push her back towards the doors when Slendither gasped, the Porcelain Monster quickly slipping out of her sister’s hands and smiling excitedly. 

“Harry and I may have found something that could potentially belong to the thief” said Slendithera, the Porcelain Monster gesturing over to the Hyena who had just been standing beside her silently. 

Venno suddenly remembered the Hyena, her head tilting to the side as she raised an eyebrow. 

“Oh yeah, I remember you. How’s your family, by the way?” asked Venno, now smiling at the familiar face. 

Harry shrugged, the Hyena crossing his arms as he scratched under his chin. 

“We’re all doing good” said the Hyena simply.
