The Bounty and the Hunter (Story 19 - Part 1)

With Venno: 

To say the least, Venno couldn’t even remember most of what had happened since Jerry told her the news. 

It was after she had told him that she was pregnant, to which he was happy to hear. 

And after that, he told her that she was the new CEO and owner of the Bounty Hunter Agency. 

Venno could tell that Jerry was happy to finally be able to retire, the older Spider having smiled the most  in just a few hours than she had ever seen him smile the entire time she knew him. 

And now, the Velociraptor was standing beside the older Spider as a news crew prepared and set up for the interview with her and Jerry. 

The lobby was full of employees, making Venno think that perhaps everyone in the building had come down to watch live, but the Velociraptor knew that most of the employees were most likely watching on TVs on their floors since there wasn’t enough space for everyone. 

Barry, Fiona and Scott were standing nearby, the Pomeranian smiling excitedly as her tail wagged quickly. Barry smiled and gave Venno a quick nod while Scott chuckled and gave her the thumbs up. 

“Alright, we're going live in five, four, three, two-” said the cameraman, the Monochrome pointing the camera at Jerry and Venno as the reporter quickly fixed her hair. 

“We are here with the former CEO and the founder of the Bounty Hunter Agency, Mr.Jerry ‘Sniper’ Rifele. Mr.Rifele, please tell us, has your record really been beaten?” asked the reporter, smiling as she quickly turned to the camera with her microphone before holding it over for Jerry to speak into. 

Jerry took a quick puff from his cigarette before nodding, the older Spider taking the microphone from the reporter, much to her shock and confusion but she didn’t argue. 

“Yes, I had the most amount of bounties caught and brought in. A number I was able to solidify since I first started off as a teenager until I was later in my forties when I was no longer able to hunt anymore due to my leg injury. After that, I founded the Bounty Hunter Agency because of a serious lack of rules and regulations” said Jerry, the older Spider chuckling when he mentioned his leg injury. 

The reporter smiled and nodded in understanding. 

“Anyway, yes, my number has been beaten by both Rapter and Hound. You can thank my head Archivist for keeping track of them so closely, Scott. But only one of them managed to actually beat the other, and that was Rapter” said Jerry, the older Spider handing the microphone over to Venno. 

Venno was a little nervous and shocked as she took it, the Velociraptor unsure of what to say. 

“I suppose you could say that it was my hard work and determination to become the new CEO from the start, but that was back when me and Barry were both rivals and we hated each other. Now, we’re good friends, and I guess I didn’t care who became the new CEO after we did, I just wanted us to both succeed in beating our boss’ number. I was never a Bounty Hunter in the first place until less than a year ago, but after I moved to Terronto, I was given the opportunity to become one” said Venno, the Velociraptor quickly glancing over at the Wolf Hound as she said this. 

Barry smiled, the Wolf Hound bowing his head in respect, having been beaten by one of the best. 

Venno sighed, the Velociraptor wrapped an arm around her stomach at the thought of maybe Dexx seeing this. 

“It was because of the love and support and many friends and family that I was able to continue on with such strength and determination. I’d like to thank them all for being there with me, especially someone who I truly love and care for. I hope that he’s seeing this right now” said Venno, the Velociraptor glancing away as she said this.
