Texas and Alaska got in a fight when they were both 13, Alaska had taken a knife and sliced Texas's left eye, she can't see out of it and wears a eye patch to not freak any younger states out.

Maine is mute after a accident that caused her vocal cords to become damaged.

North and South Carolina hate each other because they blame one another for their sister (Carolina) death, they can get into fights so bad that they both get extremely hurt, one Incident led to North and Souths eye (Just one) becoming damaged.

New Jersey was there when Pennsylvania had a Heart attack, no one knows how or why because Pennsylvania was perfectly healthy. He had to keep her alive while screaming for help, after that he was traumatized.

For a while, America and Confederate had the powers to control peoples body's, and during the Civil war Confederate had taken over America's body and abused West Virginia half to death for being a traitor, West Virginia was scared of America and would hide from her the rest of the civil war, after Ohio found her and told her that it was Confederate.

Confederate has abused the states he kidnapped, after Texas fought back at him once after he caught her escaping, he almost killed her if Florida had not dropped on her knees and begged him to spare her life.

Idaho likes Potatoes, but hates that's all people think of   her.

America once lost her temper at Texas an smacked her across the face, she had cried that night knowing that was the first time she had every hurt one of her States. 

Arkansas had once watched Louisiana trying to stop Florida from taking her life, Arkansas never told anyone and has the haunting memory of Florida in her head. 

Florida had once split when she was kidnaped by Confederate, Southie had ran off and almost was face to face with Confederate. North had grabbed her and they merged again. Florida will say it was the most terrifying moment of her life, knowing part of her could have gotten hurt..

Maine is Deaf and Vermont has to explain what she is saying all the times, she will sometimes cry know she will never hear any of her siblings voices and singing.

Utah doesn't like people, he stays in his room all day, doing who knows what, he even kicked out his room mate Colorado. Some of the states think its because we learned a Family secret and was scarred after.

California knows Cherokee, America doesn't know why and she will break down in tears when she hears California speak it on accident.

Indiana hated when any of his siblings think badly of themselves and talks to them and cheers them up, he has helped Florida more then any of his siblings.

Hawaii was first scared of Alaska when they first met, America and Alaska had gotten in a fight about Alaska leaving her to go live with Russia.  America asked why live with your kidnappers grand-son and Alaska had punched America in the stomach out of anger, America had fell over with baby Hawaii in her arms and protected her from any harm that could have gone her way.

Alaska's years with R.E had made her turn cold and dark, before she was one of the most loving state and wouldn't even think twice to run up to you and give you a hug.
