The time he spent at Coruscant seemed to flash by when he was with Ahsoka.
y/n missed the feeling of having a friend his own age. Ever since the Clone Wars started, he had been separated from the Raxshir Clan and other friendships – Ahsoka and his clanmates and all the others he had formed a close connection with.
Aayla had been the only stable relationship, but she was more of a sister or mother than the people y/n had been with as a youngling.
But now he had found a friend. Ahsoka wasn't going to be there every second of his life, but at least he had replenished the bond between them after two years. It seemed they still had the playfulness and motivation from all that time ago in their hands.
He forgot what it felt like to be surrounded by happiness, not only the compassion and appreciation shown by his Master.
Every minute that wasn't spent sleeping y/n found himself with his old friend. Sometimes they studied in the archives, ate together at the mess hall, helped in the hangars, meditated or simply chatted. Often Aayla and Anakin, having spotted their friendship, would organise training together. The two would spar and fight, exchanging smart jokes and banter as they tried to outdo the other.
It had only lasted a week, the same time the mission on Ryloth had lasted, but it all sped by quickly. Ahsoka would still annoy him about Kasha but by now y/n had gotten used to it, brushing it off and making his own jokes.
One day Ahsoka found herself being called to the Council. Not all the Masters were present, including Aayla, but Anakin had been allowed in.
"Needed, you are, for a mission," Master Yoda informed her.
"Remember when I 'died' and went bald?" Obi-Wan smiled at her, running a hand through his hair. "The Council would like you to go undercover."
She nodded, slightly perplexed but listened as they explained the situation to her.
"We want you to go disguised as a Togruta bounty hunter," Anakin said, crossing his arms. Ahsoka was glad he had been told about this beforehand. When Obi-Wan 'passed away', he had been distraught, becoming negative and often losing his temper. He smirked at her. "As you may be able to imagine, none of the other Jedi who are currently not involved in a mission or battle would be quite able to pull that off."
Master Windu nodded. "Master Kenobi is responsible for putting the real Togruta bounty hunter - her name is Cora Diis - behind bars. The reason for her capture is that she has been involved in the smuggling of a Separatist bio weapon that will be used in battle against clones."
"We cannot find the location of the bio weapon from Diis, her mind is closed off and our Code forbids us from the methods that would have to be used in order to extract this information," Master Mundi said to her. "This is where you come in. She has been found to work with a gang of bounty hunters employed by the Separatists. Only you can go undercover as Diis and find out the location by somehow squeezing it out of her fellow hunters."
"Are you up to it, Snips?" Anakin asked.
Ahsoka nodded, grinning. "Yes Masters."
"Hey n/n," she greeted y/n as they sat down together at the mess hall. Anakin and Aayla were opposite them. Her Master raised an eyebrow, prompting her to speak. Ahsoka nodded minutely and turned to her friend. "Master Skywalker and I are going on a mission tomorrow. We may not be back for a few days."
"Nice," y/n grinned. "Whatcha doing?"
The Togruta glanced at Anakin.
"There's a skirmish on Felucia," she said, thinking fast.
