Matt's POV: After sleeping for 3 hours, I woke up in the middle of the night and was starting to have déjà vu from when we were dealing with Bria. It was now 2:10 am and I reached over to feel that I was alone in bed. I then sighed as I checked the baby monitor to see Matteo asleep. However, that just left one member of our family unaccounted for. Going to grab my shirt from the end of the bed, I went to start putting it on while walking out of our bedroom. That's when I saw Gabby sitting on the couch while reading on her laptop. "What time did you get up?"
Gabby then turned to look at me and sighed. "Maybe an hour ago. I tried to fall back asleep. But, I couldn't get what you said last night out of my head." I then sighed and nodded. "You are going to want to read about it now aren't you?" Gabby sighed and looked at me. "I'm sorry babe. It's just...I need answers. If this is the case then, maybe that's why I am always in trouble with Hatcher. Maybe then, if I am diagnosed with this...they are going to go easier on me." I then nodded and understood a bit.
"You are thinking way too far into this babe. You need to relax. I don't want you self diagnosing." Gabby then understood and looked at me before getting up. She then sighed. "Do you think we can still read about it or should I just sleep right now?" I sighed and walked up to her. Wrapping my arms around her, I then moved to kiss her softly. "That's up to you. Are you going to be able to sleep now that you have started to read about this?" Gabby bit her lip and didn't know so, she just hook her head. I then kissed her forehead.
"Well, you're lucky that I learned form my mistakes last time when it came to letting you go through things like this on your own. However, maybe instead of doing it out here...you should come get comfortable in bed while we read?" Gabby then nodded and smiled at me. I then went to grab her laptop for her before closing it and grabbing her hand. Once Gabby was up, she stepped close to me and then moved to put her hand on my chest. "I am so happy that this time around you are much more understanding."
I nodded and smiled. "Gabby, of course I am going to be much more understanding this time around. It also means that I was completely wrong last time around because it wasn't totally in your control that you wanted to work on this all the time. Your OCD was taking over because it happened so soon after we lost Louie. So, it was a way to cope with your grief. It was similar to what I did shortly after we divorced. Except, I did it with alcohol and one night stands."
Gabby then glared at me. "Do you really have to say that?" I sighed and looked at her. "Gabby, it's 2 am in the morning. Can you give me a break?" Gabby sighed and nodded as she grabbed my shirt. I then grabbed her butt and moved to kiss her forehead softly as we held each other close. "If this is the case, I want to make an appointment with Dr. Charles okay? I need a diagnosis and I need medication. I can't keep living like this. I am scared I will repeat our mistakes." I sighed and nodded when she said that.
"Gabby, you and me are forever okay? I don't care whether you start making similar mistakes to last time. You are my wife for the rest of my life. Now, let's get you in bed. Maybe we can shelve this for later? Because we both know you need sleep." Gabby then groaned. "Matt." I sighed and looked at her. "Fine, we can work on it for a bit until you fall asleep in my arms. Once you are asleep then we are going to cuddle up to one another and stay in bed until Matteo needs us. And tomorrow morning, you are not reading it until we've had breakfast as a family."
Gabby then nodded. "Mind if I just grab a snack bar then I'll come join you in bed?" I nodded and smiled before going to kiss her softly. "I am going to take this laptop though. I am plugging it in on the desk and I am going to wait out here. Sorry babe but, we both know you are going to be tempted to go back on and look up more information on OCD." Gabby sighed and agreed. "Fine." Gabby then walked over to the kitchen so that she could grab a bar. Meanwhile, I went to put her laptop on the desk, plugging it in as we got ready to go back to bed.
Once Gabby had her bar, I walked over to her and then grabbed her hand. "C'mon, let's get you back to bed and let your mind relax like it's supposed to at 2 am in the morning." Gabby smiled and nodded as I kissed her forehead and led her back to bed.
