Matt's POV: Once I finished putting the groceries away, I smiled as I made my way to the bedroom to see Gabby sitting up in bed while Matteo was playing. However, she wasn't playing with him. That could only mean one thing. She was thinking about Jesse's positive COVID test. Walking over to her, I then moved to sit next to her while grabbing her hand. "Hey, you okay?" Gabby then turned to look at me before sighing. "What do you expect Matt? Me just to be fine after learning that our surrogate has texted positive for COVID?" I then nodded before sighing.

"Gabby, I have a feeling that this will go just fine. We need to have faith." Gabby just looked at me. "Matt, I am sorry if I can't be that relax about this. Babe, our entire family has gone through this. We so far have been immune from this but now, our child has it. Well, the surrogate does. What if she dies before she can give birth? What does that mean for us? Can we really survive something like what happened a few years ago?" I then sighed while looking at her. "Gabby, you are one of the most resilient women I know. We are going to be fine."

Gabby then sighed. "I guess that is what I am most scared of. It's like the universe is out to get us. I mean, first we have the stupid aneurysm problem. Now, we have me having to deal with mental health problems and now our surrogate has COVID. The one thing that literally strings all of this together is me. When am I going to be a burden Matt?" I then sighed, knowing this was her OCD speaking. Going to grab her neck, I then went to kiss her softly. "Gabby, look at me and listen to me. You are not a burden nor will you ever be a burden to me."

Gabby then sighed while moving over in bed. "Can you join me?" I nodded and agreed before going to get in bed with her. Wrapping my arm around her, I then felt her cuddle up to me. "Gabby, Jesse is younger than you were when you were pregnant with Matteo. They say that people who are her age are much more likely to survive this. And I am not trying to excuse her actions but...she said she had friends over. Can we really blame her? She needs to have some human interaction other than with people who are in their thirties."

Gabby then sighed and thought about what I was saying before nodding. "I guess what I am most scared about is the unknown. Matt, I can't have kids...we already established that. What if our second best option gets taken away from us. I am not sure if I am going to be able to go through all of this again if it goes badly. I would loose trust in the process." I nodded and understood before moving to kiss her forehead softly. "I get it Gabby. You may not see it on my face but, I am scared too. But, we have each other remember?"

Gabby then looked up at me and smiled. "And I am so glad that I have you by my side while we are going through this." I then grabbed her hand and smiled before going to kiss her softly. That's when I saw Matteo tug on the blankets and then went to reach out for him. "Hi little guy. Sorry, mommy just needs a little bit of comfort after a scary situation." I then though about it and moved to sit up. Gabby was confused. "Hey, where are you going?" I then got up and went to grab Matteo. "Just bringing this guy close so you can relax."

Gabby then smiled when I got Matteo before putting him in her arms. Wrapping her arms around him as she sat up more, she then kissed the top of his head while looking at me. Getting in next to her, I then went to wrap my arm around her. "You know, I think we are due for a professional family picture sometime. As least one before we are a family of 4." Gabby through about it and smiled. "That actually sounds fun. If only there were some that were open."

I sighed and nodded. "At least we already have a lot of pictures of the three of us that aren't professional. However, we are definitely going to do more once our little baby is born." Gabby smiled when I said that. "I am sorry that this isn't the pregnancy situation you probably wanted to experience." I then shook my head. "Gabby, relax. We are having a baby through a surrogate. That is all that matters to me. The 'we' part of the sentence. You are my world babe. Well, you and this little guy here. Just hope that we get to add a girl to it this year."

Gabby then laughed when I said that. "We have settled on the name for her right?" I nodded and smiled. "Elizabeth Marie Casey. Or is it Maria?" Gabby then sighed. "No, we are doing Marie with an -ie. Matteo got the spanish name. Our next child can have the English name." I smiled when she said that. "What happens if it's another boy?" Gabby then sighed. "Then, I guess we can name him after Severide." I then stared at her and shook my head. "Over my dead body!"

Gabby then laughed and smiled. "What about Gabriel?" I then smiled, loving the name. "Matteo and Gabriel Casey. Oh my god. Sorry, but that is our next boy name. He's named after me. The next one gets to be named after you." Gabby smiled. "Listen, I want to be clear. We are only doing 2 kids right? I am not sure if I'm okay doing 3 kids." I nodded and smiled. "Totally, we are done after this. Whether it be a boy or a girl, we are done." Gabby smiled and agreed.

"Well, at least having natural kids. We can always adopt a baby boy." Gabby smiled but sighed. "I would rather not Matt. You know why I am against it. I don't want to have a repeat of the whole Louie situation. That's the entire reason we decided to go with the surrogacy option in the first place." I nodded and agreed before going to kiss Gabby softly. "I love you." Gabby smiled when I said that and nodded. "I love you too. Now listen, as much as I want to kiss you...we need to hang out with this little guy today considering we are working tomorrow."

I nodded and agreed with Gabby. "Who's place is he going to again or are we trying the daycare?" Gabby then smiled. "Christie is watching him tomorrow. Wait, is she coming tonight then to stay considering we need her here around 8ish?" I then decided to go grab my phone so that I could text Christie. 'Hey Christie, about tomorrow. You going to be here for 8 or you coming tonight?' I then sent the text before looking at Gabby.

"If she comes tonight, we could always do supper together. We haven't done it in a while. Maybe we can make some tacos or something." Gabby smiled when I said that. "You make the ground beef already?" I nodded. "It's all ready in the fridge for whenever you want to eat it." Gabby then smiled when I said that when Christie texted me." I went to look at it and smiled. 'Depends what you're making. I was planning on having Tacos before dropping Violet off at Jim's tonight.'

I then smiled when she said that. 'Then come over. We were going to have that too.' "She's coming over for supper. She just said that she and Violet are going to have Tacos tonight for supper. So, we can have them all together. And don't worry Violet isn't staying...she's going to Jim's place tonight." Gabby nodded and agreed. "Sure thing. Now, we should start it. Ask when she's coming." That's when Christie texted me. 'We'll be there in 30 okay? Can it be ready?'

I then texted her back again. 'Might take a bit. We need to start cooking but, shouldn't too long.' I then looked at Gabby and smiled. "She'll be here in 30 with Violet. So, we better get up so that we can start cooking." Gabby then nodded and agreed. "Sure." I then went to get up before looking at Matteo. "C'mon buddy, let's put you in your jolly jumper while daddy sets up the guest bedroom." Gabby nodded and agreed. "He going to sleep in here then?" I nodded.

"We aren't going to be here so yeah." Gabby smiled and agreed before giving me a quick kiss. I then went to grab her hand as we walked out of the bedroom so that we could make supper for us, my sister and Violet.
