One Chicago: Health First Part 4

Chapter 1286

Meanwhile, back with Jay & Erin now that they are alone:
Jay's POV: As I sat in the office at home, I smiled as I looked around for a plug. Erin was currently taking a nap so, I decided to set something up for us. Considering we both knew that one of us was always going to be working as soon as she was born, I decided to get a baby monitor that could be set up to either multiple displays or on our iPad. Luckily for me, I got one that did both. I currently had the second monitor with me as I set it up in the office for when we worked.

Quickly plugging it in, I smiled as I went to test it. I could clearly hear my voice through it and apparently, so did Erin. "So, that's what I've been hearing for the past little while." Turning to look at her, I then went to get up when I hit my head on the desk. "Ow." Erin then laughed a bit and then walked over to me. "You okay?" I nodded and smiled. "I thought you were taking a nap." Erin nodded and smiled. "I was. But, I wanted to see what you were up to down here."

I smiled. "I am just setting up the secondary baby monitor in here. It came with 2 monitors but...we can also use our phones. So, I thought maybe I could keep this one on my desk. Meanwhile, the other one can stay upstairs. And when you're working in here alone...you can sit at my desk or use the baby monitor on your phone." Erin smiled and liked that idea. "I like it. Now, did you make sure to attach the wires to the wall? I don't want her chewing on them."

I nodded and smiled. "Erin, trust me with this okay?" I then walked up to her and went to rub her arms. "I am going to take care of everything and make sure that this place is perfect for when we welcome this little one into our home. Nothing is going to be overlooked and in fact, I am going to ensure that this all gets Hank approved just to make sure you are even more confident in the set up I made for when Olivia's born." 

Erin laughed when I said that and shook her head. "Sure, like you are really going to get all of this Hank approved. That's a great joke Jay." I then nodded and smiled. "Hey, I dabble." I then went to wrap my arms around Erin before going to kiss her softly. "Listen, what do you say we move to sit in the living room? We can sit on the sectional, cover up under a blanket and watch some TV. I know it's not exciting but...it's all I can think about with you being pregnant right now." Erin nodded and smiled when I said that.

"Jay, we've already seen your brother, Natalie, Owen, Hank and Olivia today. That's a lot of people. Believe me when I say this...I didn't just go upstairs to take a nap because I needed to since I was pregnant, it was because I am really tired after how many people we saw today. So honestly, us just sitting together in the living room, cuddling up to one another under a blanket doesn't just sound fun...it sounds perfect and exactly what I want to do." I smiled when she said that before nodding as I went to kiss her softly.

Erin then pulled away after kissing me for a few minutes. She then went to grab my hand as she led me towards the living room. I smiled as we walked together because of how much I was in love with my gorgeous wife. This was my dream life and honestly, I would never change anything about the life we were now living together. Grabbing a blanket on our way over, I then saw Lucky run over and jump onto the sectional in what was supposed to be our spot. Erin then sighed as she turned around to look at me. "Move her and then sit down."

I nodded before walking towards Lucky and then looked at her. "Lucky, here. Move over. That's where me and mom sit." Lucky then got up before walking on the couch to move where she was allowed to sit. Once she moved, I went to sit in the corner before looking up at Erin. "Are you coming to join me or did I just do that so that I am able to sit alone on the couch?" Erin laughed when I said that before walking around the couch. She then came to sit in my lap before laying down on my chest and grabbing the blanket.

After putting the blanket on top of her, I decided to help place it while kissing the top of her head. "You comfortable like this?" Erin then nodded and smiled as I went to grab the remote. "Here, you pick the show. I am okay with whatever we pick. As long as you stay like this and I can hold all of my girls close to me for a while." Erin smiled when I said that before realizing something. "Holy shit, you are going to be outnumbered twice over when Olivia is born."

I nodded and smiled while moving my hand to her stomach. "Not that I am complaining. I mean, what guy doesn't want to have a gorgeous wife, beautiful daughter and amazing dog in his life." Erin smiled when I said that before feeling me rub her stomach. While I was doing that, I just left some kisses on her head when I saw Erin turn the TV on and go to check our recordings. She then smiled when she saw some mysteries. "First one to solve the mystery gets bragging rights." 

I nodded and agreed with that deal. "You sure that we can't make it pleasure? That way we both win in the end." Erin chuckled and smiled as she looked up at me. She then nodded while I bent down to kiss her softly. Moving my hand to her neck, I took it slow with her before whispering to her. "Let's just start the mystery. Now, let's help each other and just agree that we will get close later based on how tired you are." Erin nodded and agreed as she went to start the mystery show we recorded. She then went to set the remote down on the table while moving her head to my shoulder and hand to my chest.

Grabbing her hand when she put it on my chest, I smiled as I went to rub it with my thumb and kissed her forehead softly. All I could think to myself as I did this was that this is the life. The love of my life is my pregnant wife, who is currently laying down on my chest as we watch TV together with our dog. Okay, maybe the dog part was just added now but still, it was my dream and more. And I wouldn't change a thing.

After spending a few minutes thinking about how lucky I was, I decided to turn my attention to the TV as we watched a mystery together...both hoping that we are the first ones to solve it.
