One Chicago: Health First Part 4

Chapter 1225

Matt's POV: Once me and Gabby finished eating lunch, we decided to turn the TV on while we relaxed since I had already brought the pan back to the kitchen. That's when I remembered that Hermann had called us. "Hey, so are we going to call Hermann back?" Gabby then turned to look at me as she grabbed my hand. "I don't know why he would call. Aren't they on shift?" I then thought about it and shook my head. "Probably has something to do with Molly's. Might want you to work. However, I would prefer if you won't work today." 

Gabby then looked at me. "What about you? Are you going to head in instead of me?" I shook my head. "There is nowhere I would rather be right now than by your side as we relax today. You deserve it after all the shit we've been through over the past couple of days." Gabby nodded and agreed as she put her hand on my chest before kissing me softly. "Agreed. But, what do I tell him?" I then sighed and rubbed her back. "Do you really want to call him back?" Gabby then sighed. "I won't if you don't want me to."

I was then put in a hard position. It was true that I didn't want her too considering it may lead to him asking her to work tonight. But, I knew that if it was something important about Molly's...then she had to answer considering we are part-owners of the bar. "Only if you tell him first thing that you are not working tonight. Maybe tomorrow but, we can decided that tomorrow." Gabby nodded and agreed with that call before going to call Hermann. She then put him on speaker so that we could both listen in.

"Hey Gabby, guess you missed my call?" Gabby laughed a bit. "Yeah, we were just eating lunch. What's up?" Hermann then went to start speaking about Molly's. I then decided to stop him. "Sorry Hermann but we are taking the day off today. We need the rest." Hermann then sighed and understood. "Sylvie?" Gabby agreed. "Amongst other things. But, we might be able to work tomorrow." Hermann liked the sound of that. "That's good, what about Diego?"

I then sighed and shook my head. "He needs to be with his dad right now. You know what happened to Sylvie so...I am pretty sure that he is going to be out. Lee Henry is on tonight right?" Hermann agreed. "Yeah, Gallo is going to come in tomorrow. He wanted a day off and I thought it would be okay. He had a rough fire shift a few days ago. And something's up at home apparently." I agreed and sighed. "Hermann, he's the candidate. He probably needs to sleep."

Hermann laughed. "Ah yes, my second candidate as fire captain." I was confused when he said that. "Who's your first candidate?" Hermann then chuckled. "I'm speaking to her. Remember, she was my candidate even though she was on Truck?" I nodded and agreed. "Really, it was only for official purposes. We know that she was really my candidate. And will always be my candidate." Gabby smiled when I said that and nodded as she grabbed my hand. 

I then intertwined our fingers as we sat down next to each other in bed. That's when I Decided to look at Matteo and smiled as I tickled him. "Yeah, you like it when daddy tickles you eh buddy?" I then heard him laugh a bit while looking at Gabby. "He probably needs more attention from his mom though." Gabby nodded and agreed. "Hard when you literally volunteer to do everything and hog him." I then blushed and smiled at her. "Just trying not to get you overwhelmed."

Gabby smiled when I said that and understood. That's when I decided to move my hand to her neck and gave it a quick kiss. "You relaxed?" Gabby then nodded and smiled as I wrapped my arm around her, laying down more. Gabby then slipped down into bed more, grabbing my hand. Hermann then spoke up. "Listen, do you guys want time alone? I can always figure something our if you want." I agreed and smiled. "Thanks Hermann and thanks for understanding."

Hermann then agreed. "Have a good afternoon. Talk later." Gabby then hung up and went to put her cell phone on the side table. I then watched her roll over in bed before slipping her legs in between mine. That's when I felt her roll over onto my chest and bend down to kiss me softly. "Sorry if I am getting a little intimate right now. Just wanted to do this for some reason." I then smirked when she did that and nodded while bringing her onto my chest. Feeling her arms around my waist, I then grabbed her neck and kissed it softly. "It's okay. I'm here if you want something." 

Gabby smiled when I said that. "I think what I need right now is to take a nap on your chest." I smiled when she said that and nodded. "One condition." Gabby then leaned up and looked down at me. "What's that?" I then smiled as I grabbed her neck. "I want a little bit of this first." I then went to kiss her softly, holding her close to me while taking it slow with her. Gabby then nodded and smiled as she rubbed my chest. "Not too long. I want to sleep."

I then went to pull away when I felt her lay down on my chest. "Would you mind if I watched TV?" Gabby then hook her head as she cuddled up to me, wrapping her arms around me. I then smiled as I went to tug the covers up for her while grabbing the TV remote. Turning it on, I just rubbed Gabby's bag and helped her fall asleep while kissing her forehead softly. Feeling Gabby's chest move up and down as she breathed...I could tell this was exactly what she needed. Time to relax in my arms and sleep to calm down.
