One Chicago: Health First Part 4

Chapter 1219

30 minutes later, after eating breakfast:
Matt's POV: As I finish clearing the dishes from the bedroom and putting them in the dishwasher, I smile as I come back to bed when I see Gabby laying down in bed waiting for me. "You want to just relax in here today?" Gabby then nodded and sighed. "It may only be 10 but, we have already gotten a lot of heavy news today." I agreed and nodded before seeing Matteo in bed. "Here, let me get in with you and I can hold you in my arms." Gabby nodded and agreed as she moved to open the covers, sitting up a bit more to let me in bed.

Once I was in bed with her, I moved to wrap my arm around her. Feeling her cuddle up to me, I smiled as I moved to grab her hand and intertwined our fingers while I kissed her forehead. "You feeling any better compared to recently?" Gabby then sighed when I asked. "They said it would take a while for me to feel any different. So, that is not good but...I just hope it gets better." I then turned my head and looked at her. "Hey, it will get better. Gabby, we now know what's been going on in your brain all this time and it's going to get better."

Gabby then looked up at me. "I just feel bad. Had I known years ago, maybe I wouldn't have left or done so much..." I just stopped her there. "Gabby, stop. Had you known, we wouldn't be sitting here with Matteo. I have told you that many times now and I still believe that is the honest truth. We would've never tried again and we would probably still be divorced." Gabby sighed and nodded as she laid her head down on my chest and nuzzled her head in my neck. "All I want you to concentrate on now is feeling better."

Gabby nodded and agreed as she went to grab my hand and intertwined our fingers. "Is it too soon to ask to go take another vacation somewhere warm?" I laughed when she said that and kissed her forehead softly. "Unfortunately, we have to work in a few days. And we need to be here for Antonio and Sylvie. Even though we have stuff to work through Gabby...we also need to support them through this hard period in their life. First, Sylvie lost one of the twins. Now, she's suicidal." Gabby sighed and agreed that we needed to stay.

"Believe me Gabby, if all this other stuff wasn't going on...I would be on the next flight to Puerto Rico with you." Gabby was shocked when I said Puerto Rico. "Are you really considering it?" I sighed and looked at her. "I want us to go talk to Dr. Charles again sometime. Or a therapist. Together so we can figure out what can help you the best. Gabby, tell me....does Chicago make you more or less stress than when you lived in Puerto Rico?"

Gabby then bit her lip. "I don't want to hurt your feelings though babe. I love being here with you. I want to be your wife. And I want to raise Matteo with both his parents." I nodded and smiled. "And that will always be the case. Gabby, let me say this again. I regret not going with you to Puerto Rico. So, I am staying by your side for the rest of your life." Gabby smiled and agreed before leaning up to kiss me softly. "Shit, this is probably not going to help our case for adoption."

I then stopped her. "Okay, let's not start that okay? Gabby please, just take a minute and breathe before we go back to making any decisions. In fact, let's wait until at least September before even mentioning that okay? No adoption talk until after our vow renewal. Unless you want to cancel it because of Sylvie?" Gabby then bit her lip again before sighing. "I don't want too. But, we should at least consider it. I want to see whether she is released before birth." 

I nodded and agreed with Gabby on that call. "Agreed. However, I am just letting you know in advance that I am going to be a helicopter husband for a while. I am going to make sure that you are okay. I am worried now Gabby. You are going to have to adjust to the medication and that means you are going to have to concentrate on yourself more for a while." Gabby nodded and agreed. "Maybe you can give me a few spa days in between now and then?"

I then smirked when she said that. "Depends, do I get a sexy massage in bed after each spa day? One where there is nothing but sheets covering our bodies?" I then moved to kiss her softly while rolling over and leaning over her. Gabby then grabbed my face while slipping her legs in between mine. "Like how we were interrupted this morning?" Gabby then smiled as she kissed me. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" 

I nodded and smirked as I went to grab her shirt. I then was about to start undoing it when I heard Matteo stir in his sleep. I then stopped and waited to see whether he woke up and was glad he didn't. I then proceeded to take off Gabby's shirt before throwing it down to the ground. "God, you are so gorgeous." Gabby smiled when I said that and then nodded. "And you are very handsome." I smiled and nodded as we both started to get each other undressed.

Grabbing her pants, I undid them before going to slip them off while kissing her softly. That's when Gabby went to grab my shirt and took it off for me while I threw it to the ground. Once that was done, I got up and then went to take off my jeans for her. "Just my jeans or it all?" Gabby then smiled. "Just your jeans. It's my job to take off those boxers if I want to go further." I then glared at her. "If you want to go further?!?" Gabby then nodded.

"Depends on Matteo. If he wakes up in the middle of us doing it, then we are stopping." I nodded and agreed while talking off my jeans and setting them down at the end of the bed. "We could always just lay down in bed in our underwear while I kissed you. Is that what you prefer I do?" Gabby then nodded and smiled when I said that. "Please." I then smiled and agreed before moving to get in bed with her. 

Once I got back in bed with her, I moved close to her and tugged her against my chest. Moving my hand to her back, I felt her slip her legs in between mine while staring into my eyes. Pushing a strand of hair behind her ear, I then whispered to her. "I am so glad we got to the bottom of your health problems Gabby. I am so sorry we didn't even think about it last time. I feel so bad. Like I failed you a bit last time." Gabby then shook her head. "Hey, don't say that Matt."

I sighed and nodded before kissing her softly. "I can't help but feel like I would have done a better job had I seen the signs better." I then moved to slip my arm under her and around her back before moving her onto my chest as I laid down on my back. "Matt, that's not the case. You were a great husband. And you are a great husband and father. Please, just like you say don't think about the past negatively, take your advice and don't do the same Matt."

I then nodded and agreed as I turned to look at her. Kissing her softly, I smiled as we held each other close in bed. "Want me to do anything specific right now?" Gabby then smiled. "Just kiss me. That's all I need right now." I then nodded and agreed as I took my time with Gabby, kissing her slowly.
