Jay's POV: As I made my way back home with Antonio and Lucky, I smiled when I walked in with them. I then went to let Lucky off her leach before looking at her. "Bed." Lucky then walked away to get a drink of water on her way to the living room. I then turned to look at Antonio while taking off my coat. "She's pretty well behaved." I smiled when he said that. "What do you expect? She's a service dog. I think she's ex-military." Erin then looked at me when I got back. "She is ex-military Jay, we made sure that she was." I agreed and smiled when she came out.
Erin then looked at Antonio. "Hey Antonio, how's Sylvie doing?" Antonio then smiled. "Good, you vaccinated too?" Erin nodded and smiled. "We all are. So, that's helpful." Antonio then walked up to her and went to hug her. "Finally, haven't been able to do that since Christmas." Antonio then looked at Hank. Shaking his hand, Hank sighed. "Sylvie will be fine when she's past this but, how are you doing Antonio?" Antonio then sighed. "I am doing better. Just taking it day-by-day. It's what I can do. Doesn't help that my fiancé is in rehab."
I agreed and went to rub his back. "Listen, how about we go sit down and we can talk about how the new dynamic is going to be at work." Antonio then got concerned. "Am I changing jobs again because of how little I work?" Hank then stopped that. "NO, we are talking about what it's going to be like around the district now that Jay is going to be bringing Lucky into work everyday." Antonio agreed and then walked into the house with us. "Mind if I get some coffee? Or, is this a non-coffee house?" Erin then sighed when he asked. "Jay is non-coffee. But, you should be."
Antonio then sighed. "You're right. Sylvie is still pregnant." Antonio then walked over to Erin and hugged her. "How are you Erin?" Erin then smiled. "A lot better. Loving having a dog around the house. Very helpful to get my slippers sometimes. Jay may say that she's just his dog but, she's our dog. She helps him with his PTSD and she helps me get stuff off the ground considering I am fat and can't reach the ground." I then went to walk over to Erin and put my hand on her stomach. "Erin, you aren't fat...you're pregnant and beautiful as hell."
Erin smiled when he said that and nodded before leaning up to kiss him softly. "Maybe that's what I wanted to hear so that I could give you a kiss." I smiled when she said that and then moved to hug her. That's when I saw Lucky on the couch again next to Hank. "Can I pet her?" I then nodded. "Sure, but only while she's off her leach. If she's on her leach...then she is working and is a service dog and therefore, only me and Erin can touch her." Erin smiled at that thought.
Antonio then decided to ask questions. "Okay, so I know we said we were going to talk...so I am going to ask questions about how this is going to work now. You know, the whole having a service dog in the unit. What's the process and how are we going to deal with this. What about on raids and missions and stuff?" I then looked at him. "She can stay in the back of my truck or, she can be a police dog. We haven't decided yet but...she is trained to be a police dog. I asked the trainers to do that for me so that she can be more helpful both at home and at work."
Erin then turned to look at Antonio. "Wait a second. I thought you were on paternity leave Antonio so, why are you back at work?" Antonio then sighed. "I've decided to start paternity when Sylvie is back. Right now, she's at the clinic." I nodded and smiled. "That makes complete sense. And if I were in your shoes...I would do the same thing. But, I never will be in your shoes because I would be there with Sylvie. Not that there's anything wrong with you being here." Antonio then looked at me. "Okay, what the hell was that Jay? Contradictions much?"
I sighed when he pointed that out and then made it clear why. "Pregnant, hormonal wife and boss-man father-in-law. Say the wrong thing, I get shit from Hank and I get punished by Erin." Antonio then smirked and understood. "Sorry I can't go into more details. Hank's here." I then turned to look at Erin and smiled as I leaned down to kiss her softly. "Love you." Erin nodded and smiled as I kissed her again. "Love you too. Now, you need breakfast Antonio?" Antonio then shook his head. "I'm okay. Now, you guys eat. Then we can head to the district." I nodded and agreed with his idea. I had to train Lucky still on how to work.
"Hank, have you already spoken to the higher ups at the district and told them that Lucky is starting work today or do I need to call Platt?" Erin then turned to look at me. "Don't worry, we already took care of it, I promise." I smiled when she said that and nodded. "Okay, now let's have breakfast so that we can get going in the pickup. Need to teach Lucky how this is all going to work. Lucky then looked up from her bed when I said her name when I sighed. "Lay down."
Lucky then did as she was told. "Wow, she obeys your orders more than you have ever obeyed mine. Maybe you should take some lessons from her Jay." I then turned to look at him. "Sure, because that would mean that I would've had to keep it in my pants with Erin, not marry her and not have a baby with her." Hank then laughed when I said that. "I forgive you for that by the way. You've earned her heart because you guys are great together. Now, let's go...chop, chop. Eat up so that we can head to the district and get to work."
I nodded and agreed as I went to grab the breakfast that Erin made so that we could get to work.
