Gabby's POV: When Patterson spoke to me in spanish (which was quite good might I add), I was quite shocked at how good it was. I decided to ask him where he learned spanish. "Where did you learn spanish? It sounds quite good. Almost like you are a native speaker." Patterson laughed and smiled. "Went to the University of Texas at El Paso. However, I lived in Ciudad Juarez. Much less expensive and got the real Mexican culture. Just hated the border. I mean, it can take someone up to 2 hours each way to get through the border. Ridiculous."
I sighed and nodded. "Exactly why I am never going to drive to Mexico. I am flying when I go to Cancun with Matt." Matt then turned to look at me. "When did I ever say I was taking you to Cancun?" I then glared at him while taking a bite of my salad. "Matt, we barely had a real honeymoon. We were gone for maybe 2-3 days at the most when Antonio got into his car accident. Once this shit is over and Matteo is older...we are going on a real honeymoon. Anyways, we owe it to ourselves considering we never took a honeymoon the first time."
Matt then sighed. "Can we not talk about that? We both know why." I then nodded and sighed, realizing he was right and that it was completely my fault that we didn't go on a honeymoon right after getting married. The stupid situation with Dante, not being able to adopt Louie. I am just glad I am not going to have to go through that whole process alone again because me and Matt are going to go through it together. That's when I got an e-mail. I saw the byline and that it was from Tina. I then went to open it and looked at the baby. "Oh god. She's adorable."
Matt then turned to look at me and smiled. "Gabby, can we just wait a bit? We already agreed we would remember? We also might not want to go for a girl even if we tried to adopt right now in order to be respectful of your brother and Sylvie." I then turned to look at him and realized her was right. I then sighed and went to grab his neck. "Fine but, you don't get to complain when you dream about her in your arms tonight and realize that we should've explored it. Remember, you said you wanted a girl if possible." Matt chuckled and nodded. "I also said not until after my birthday. I want Matteo to be at least 6-7 months when we start."
I then realized he was right when he said that considering it was going to be hard work adopting a child. I was just glad that Matt was going to be in this with me from the start this time. That really screwed us up the first time. However, in the end...he got just as emotionally invested in it as I did. Matt then looked at me. "You thinking about Louie?" I sighed and nodded. "That's the hard part about thinking about adopting. All the regrets I have. Not having you with me from the start. I was just glad you came around. The way you got outraged at Tina was really nice."
Matt smiled as he wrapped his arm around me and then kissed my head. "Called not wanting to see my new wife heartbroken just weeks after getting her dream life. A child, her dream guy and us almost adopting our foster son." I then sighed and nodded. "That's why I am so glad we are going to do it together from the start. Either that or surrogacy. I am going to really need your emotional support when it comes to that considering I am going to be on pins and needles the entire time. I am going to need you to help me keep emotional distance from the kid."
Matt then started to laugh when I said that, thinking I was joking. I then turned to look at him and glared. He then bit his lip. "Oh, you were serious about that?" I then nodded and looked at him. "Gabby, be honest with yourself. This is you we are talking about. You get emotionally attached whenever we are dealing with kids in the ambulance. How is that not going to happen when you are dealing with a kid we are thinking of trying to foster or adopt? Gabby, that's why I love you. You have such a big heart that any child would be lucky to call you mom."
I then smiled when Matt said that before laying my head down on his shoulder. "I love you." Matt nodded and smiled when I said that. "I love you too. Now, let's not gross out our friends by getting all lovey dovey in front of them. Well, at least everybody except Jay and Erin." Jay then looked at us. "Hey! What does that mean?" I then glared at him. "You don't think we've all noticed that you've been staring at Erin and rubbing her stomach the entire time you've been here. Jay, you can't keep your hands off her. I mean, it's almost disgusting how adorable it is."
