Meanwhile, with Matt & Gabby
Matt's POV: As I finish setting Matteo up in the high chair, I sigh as I give him some cheerios to eat along with some fruits and some yogurt. "C'mon Matteo, time for lunch." Gabby then laughed as I went to feed him. "Hey, this is harder than you think. He does not like to co-operate." Gabby nodded and agreed as she went to sit across from me at the table. I then saw her grab her iPad. "What you looking at anyways on there?" Gabby just looked at me. "Final alterations." I then understood exactly what she meant and nodded. "Hey, Sylvie still in your wedding party?"

Gabby then looked up at me and sighed. "I hadn't even thought about that until now. Think we should just you know...ask her to sit on the sidelines and relax? She's already been through enough this year. We shouldn't have to stress her with the Maid of Honour duties." I nodded and agreed before going to grab some of the fish I made for me and Gabby along with some friends. "Hey, don't forget to eat your fish before it gets cold." Gabby then nodded and agreed to eat.

"You know, if you want...we can head out for a walk after lunch. Or would you rather stay in?" Gabby then looked at Matteo and smiled. "I want to sit on the ground and play with him. We need family time and not just mom and dad time with Matteo on the side." I laughed when she said that and nodded. "But, that's the fun way to do it." Gabby smiled and agreed with what I Just said. "Anyways, I am positive Severide is going to call later. Stella texted me earlier."

I then looked at me. "What did he do? Just tell me in advance so that I can just tell him that he needs to apologize and what he needs to do to fix the situation." Gabby sighed when I said that. "It's not something you can really fix that fast. He ordered the wrong flavor wedding cake." I just shook my head and groaned. "For crying out loud. Why in the world did he do that?" Gabby sighed. "You still going to yell at him." I then turned to look at Matteo. "Yes, I am. Daddy's going to yell at uncle Severide and give him trouble."

Gabby laughed when I said the last part. "You are so struggling with not being able to swear in front of him aren't you?" I turned to look at Gabby and sighed. "Yes, please...that is so hard. Why must you be the only one between us that knows swear words in another language?" Gabby smiled when I said that. "Hey, you can say it. He is eventually going to learn them. Might as well learn them from us instead of other people. We can just tell him not to say them." I thought about it and shrugged, not sure it's a good idea really.

However, Gabby saw me shrug and I could tell she was not amused. "What's wrong with my suggestion? Honestly, tell me the truth." I then sighed and looked at her. "Being honest, would you really not hold it against me if our son's first word was the F-word or B-word?" Gabby then sighed and nodded. "I definitely would. I mean, this is our son you are talking about." I nodded and smiled. "That's why I am trying to never swear in front of him. Well, that and I need to practice for when we have 2 kids under 2." Gabby then sighed.

"You regret starting surrogacy before he's one?" I then turned to look at her and shook my head. "Hey, never. I would rather have more years with our kids than apart. Believe me, this was the good move for us. In our career...who knows what day is going to be our last. So, the sooner we have kids the better. Plus, I am not getting any younger." Gabby smiled when I said that. "However, you do look like you are staying the same age and I am jealous!" I agreed and smiled. "Gabby, you are beautiful and still look very young."

Gabby smiled when I said that. "Even when I smell like shit and my hair is horrible?" I then looked at her and nodded. "You are my beautiful wife regardless of what you look like." Gabby smiled and walked over to me. She then moved to grab the back of my head as we held each other close. "We are not getting close right after we eat. I want to go out and stop at the firehouse. I want to tell Boden so that he knows ahead of time. Plus, I want to tell Gianna Mackey who's currently on her shift. If she needs to come in if something happens..."

I nodded and understood, smiling. "Nobody we know other than Gianna is going to be there. You know that right?" Gabby nodded and smiled. "Plus, we need to tell Chief we're vaccinated." I understood and smiled. "Want to wait until after his nap or before." Gabby then went to rub Matteo's head. "Let's go before he needs to nap. It's really nice out and I know we were out earlier but...since the firehouse has finally gotten vaccinated, they can hold him. Well, Boden can." I nodded and agreed before kissing her softly. "Let me feed him, then we can go."

Gabby agreed and smiled as she let me go and then walked away to the bedroom. "Oh and when we get back, we need to do laundry remember? I need your help to strip and change the bed." I nodded and agreed. "Sure, just get ready to go. I'll change him and get him ready when he's done eating." Gabby nodded and smiled as she walked into the bedroom so that she could get changed to go to the firehouse. God, I was ready to finally tell Boden. It would be great.
