One Chicago: Health First Part 4

Chapter 1182

Sylvie's POV:
As I laid down in the hospital bed, I was distraught over the fact that I lost our daughter. She was supposed to be safe in there but, a stupid fall broke that. That's when I heard Gabby walk into my room. "Hey partner." I turned to look at her and bit my lip. "Gabby..." Gabby just grabbed my hand and looked at me. "Hey, don't talk. I already know. Antonio filled me in." I then looked at Antonio and saw him walk up to me. "He's going to need somebody to talk to."

Gabby then looked up at Antonio. "Matt's going to drop Matteo off with the Halsteads. Then, they can go talk. You can talk to me about it okay? I Know exactly how you feel right now." Gabby when wrapped her arm around me before grabbing my hand. I then nodded and understood. "There's one difference though. You never got the chance to find out the gender and pick out a name." I sighed. "Secretly I did. I called our first child Magey." That made me smiled.

"It's spelt M-A-G-E-Y. For me, it stood for Matt And Gabby Equals You." I smiled when she said that and nodded. "That's cute. Not really possible for me." Gabby sighed and nodded as she looked at me before getting up. She then moved to the end of the bed and looked at me. "Listen, if you guys need us to do anything...we will. I promise. Heck, I can even bring you meals for free and stuff." Antonio then turned to look at me as he walked into the room. "How you doing?"

I sighed as I went to grab his hand. "I just feel bad that we lost our daughter. I know you wanted her the most." Antonio then came to sit next to her and shook his head. "Hey, that's not true. I want you the most. Sylvie...what happened was tragic. But, I have you. That's all that matters." I sighed when he said that and nodded as he got up. He then moved to lean his forehead against mine before kissing me softly. "You are my world Sylvie. I love you for you. Not because you are pregnant with our child." 

I then snapped. "I am not ready to hear that okay. Can you please just say pregnant!" Antonio nodded and agreed. "Of course. We will get through this on your schedule." I then nodded before kissing him softly. "Sorry I snapped." Antonio agreed and sighed. "Listen, how about you just get some rest okay? I will go get you some food." I nodded and agreed. "Gabby, can you stay with her?" Gabby nodded and agreed. "Of course."

Antonio then got up and looked at me. "I will be back. What do you want?" I just shrugged. "Don't care. Just be safe." Antonio nodded and smiled as he grabbed my hand, rubbing it before kissing me softly. "Be back soon." I agreed and nodded as I let him go. I then turned to look at Gabby and sighed. "Be honest with me, he just putting up a brave front?" Gabby sighed and nodded.

"I think he is but, you guys are going to need to be there for each other okay?" I nodded and understood what she meant. "Did you loosing your first pregnancy drive a wedge between you and Matt?" Gabby shook her head. "No, in fact it made us stronger." I smiled when she said that. "What do you think about me and Antonio? Is this going to make us stronger or is it going to break us? Your honest opinion partner."

Gabby's POV:
When Sylvie asked me that question, I sighed. I mean, how do I even answer that question? I am not the one in charge of their relationship nor can I predict the future. It is not my relationship, it is theirs. If they want to make it work, then they are going to have to put in the work just like any other couple. I just hope that it doesn't push them apart. Now how to respond to this question. Of course, I have nothing to say so I just try and wing it.

"You just hold onto him and lean on each other. Sylvie, he may not be showing it but...he's probably hurting too. This was not just your baby, it was his baby too. I remember when me and Matt lost Louie. He grieved a lost faster than me and started to take apart the bedroom soon after we lost him. You guys have to learn to do what you need to grieve and accept each other's ways of grieving. If he wants to take a crib down...let him."

Sylvie sighed and nodded as she teared up. "Can you help him with the clothes? I don't know if I'm going to be able to look at all those pink clothes." I nodded and understood as I went to rub her cheek. "Whatever you need Sylvie. I promise, you are going to have a lot of support okay? Whatever you need, don't be afraid to reach out to the firehouse." Sylvie then stared at me. "Shit, I didn't even tell them yet."

I then nodded. "Then let me okay? Let me, Matt and Antonio help you guys through this. Let us tell people for you. I'll call Stella. Now, do you need anything to eat?" Sylvie shook her head. "Maybe just send Antonio back in? I want to sit with him." I nodded and agreed. "Just to let you know, he went through a miscarriage before. I think he lost a baby before." Sylvie nodded and agreed. "Good to know." I then sighed before moving to kiss her forehead. 

"Love you partner. We are all going to get you through this okay? Want anything to sleep for a bit? I can get the nurse to get you water or something." Sylvie then nodded. "Water would be nice." I then saw a pitcher at the end of her bed and went to grab a little glass. Putting water in it, I then went to give it to her. "Here, take a drink. Want Antonio to come back in?" Sylvie nodded. "Please." I then went to rub her arm before leaving to get Antonio.

Walking out, I looked at him. "She wants you. Now, I am going to tell the firehouse for you guys. Want me to tell CPD too?" Antonio then turned to look at me and nodded. "Tell Matt to tell Jay." I agreed and nodded before going to hug him. "Promise me you'll put her first and hold her close. It's what I needed with Matt when this happened to me." Antonio agreed and smiled. "Of course. Now, I am going in." I agreed and let him go before going to grab my phone.

I then sent Matt a text. 'Sylvie miscarried one of the twins. Can you tell...' I was about to hit send when Matt came in. "Gabby." I turned to look at him and sighed. "Over there, let me tell you." Matt agreed and nodded as we walked away.
