One Chicago: Health First Part 4

Chapter 1156

An hour later when Matt is home from boxing:
Matt's POV:
As I walk up to the house after parking the van, I go to grab my gym bag from the back and start making my way to the door. That's when I see Severide and Stella there. "Shit, you guys are here early." Severide then turned to look at me. "Where were you?" I smiled. "I was at the gym." Severide was shocked when I said that. "What gym is open? I heard they were all closed." I chuckled and smiled. "Benefits of having a brother-in-law who owns a boxing gym."

Stella then understood. "Okay. Well, we didn't knock yet. How about you instead just let us in?" I nodded and agreed. "You may want to back up. I got really sweaty and need to take a shower." They both agreed and nodded as I went to grab my house key. I then unlocked it so that I could let them in when I saw Matteo on his play mat in his living room. He then looked up at me and smiled. "Hi Matteo...you miss daddy this morning?" I then went to set my bag down next the couch and walked over to him.

Picking him up, I then moved to kiss his cheek softly before hugging him. "Where's your mommy? Eh? Where's momma?" I then saw Severide stare at me from the door. "Okay, who are you and what have you done to my best friend in the 2 second that passed from you letting us in the door and picking Matteo up?" I then smiled as I turned around to look at him. "Called being a dad. Babies make you do crazy things." Stella then looked at Severide. "Shut up, it's cute! And let Matt be whatever type of dad he wants. He's wanted this for years."

I then nodded and smiled when I heard Gabby come out. "I thought I heard you come home." Gabby then walked over to me and moved to wrap her arms around me. "Hey." I then wrapped my arm around her and moved to kiss her softly when she smelled me. "Shower, now. I will make breakfast." Gabby then went to grab Matteo from me and smiled. "Okay. Be back in a minute guys." I then went to grab my gym bag before carrying it to the laundry. Once it was in the laundry, I made my way into the bedroom so that I could get a new set of clothes to wear once I was done in the shower.

Gabby's POV:
Once Matt left to go take a shower, I smiled at Stella and Severide. Severide then went to speak up first. "Does he really act that way around you with Matteo?" I nodded and smiled. "Like Stella just said, shut up because it's adorable. And if you think that is adorable...wait until we have a daughter. Matt is going to be even more gushy." Severide laughed and smiled. "Listen, how about you girls work on dresses and I can make Matt breakfast." I smiled, loving that idea. "Stella, let's go sit in my room, That's where we are going to look at dresses."

Stella agreed and nodded as she followed me to my room. Leaving the door open, I smiled as I went to get on the bed before grabbing my iPad. "So, you brought your tablet right?" Stella nodded and then got her iPad out. "Made sure to bring it. We are not sharing an iPad when we both need to look at dresses at the same time. Now, I keep looking at dresses but...all the ones I can find look like they are made from toilet paper. I mean, it's horrible." Stella then went to show me some. I smiled, liking it. "That's cute."

Stella then groaned. "God, that's the one thing I hate about this. Why can't I Just wearing a pantsuit?" I then turned to look at her and nodded. "Stella, who said you can't? Last time I checked...this was your wedding and you were Stella Kidd! When has anybody ever told you what you can and can't do!" Stella then laughed and agreed. "Would Kelly really be okay with me wearing a white pantsuit to the wedding?" I then decided to yell for him. "Severide!"

Severide then walked over to the door and looked in. "Wow, haven't been this far into your apartment before. What's up?" I then looked at him. "You okay with Stella wearing a pantsuit to your wedding or do you want her in a dress?" Kelly then laughed when I asked that question. Stella was not happy about that though. "Kelly!" Severide then looked at her. "Babe, you really think I'm expecting you to wear a dress? You are a total tomboy. You wear a pantsuit way better than a dress any day...that's the truth. So, you wear a pantsuit. But, not your blues."

That's when I saw Matt come in just wearing his sweat pants. "Matt." Matt then looked at me. "Oh shut up, not like they haven't seen it before." Both Kelly and Stella then nodded. "Gabby, we've basically all seen each other naked." I then started to panic a bit and got quiet. Matt just looked at me and realized what was happening. "Hey Gabby...there's no cameras here." Matt then walked over to me and moved to sit next to me. "You're okay." I took a breath and nodded.

Severide then looked at us. "Oh god, you are talking about?" Matt just turned his head and nodded. "Can you give me and Gabby a minute guys?" Severide and Stella then nodded. Getting up off the bed, Stella walked out with Severide before closing the door behind her. I then sighed as I looked at her. "Here, let me grab a shirt and then we can sit on the bed for a minute okay Gabby?" Gabby then nodded and agreed as I got up before going to my closet to  grab a shirt.
