Meanwhile, with Matt as he comes out of the shower:
Matt's POV: As I came out of the shower already dressed for the day, I saw my sister standing in the kitchen making us some breakfast. I then decided to walk over and smiled at her. "You didn't have to make us breakfast?" Christie then turned to look at me and smiled. "I am happy to. Anyways, I am getting hungry. You guys like Blueberry or Chocolate Chip pancakes?" I then looked at her. "Blueberry please. I have never tried chocolate chip pancakes and don't plan on every trying them." Christie then nodded as I went to grab some coffee.

"You want some Christie, if so...what type?" I then went to put my K-Cup in the Keurig before grabbing a glass to start the coffee. "What does Gabby take?" I was about to answer when I heard Gabby come out. "French vanilla with a little bit of milk." Turning to look at her, I smiled when she walked up to me. "You already take care of Matteo or is he still asleep?" I then moved to wrap my arm around her and smiled as I kissed her softly. "Morning but, she's still asleep. I was going to let him sleep in." Gabby nodded and agreed with me.

"What time do you want to go to the hotel?" I then thought about it and smiled. "We can check at 2. However, I want to go out for a while. How about you just start with packing a bag and getting it ready? I actually want to go out. More specifically, I want to go to Millennium Park. Then, we can go to have lunch before the hotel." Gabby smiled and agreed with that idea. "Sounds great. I want to see where we are doing our vow renewal too anyways." I smiled when she said that before grabbing her hand. "It's going to be a gorgeous vow renewal."

Gabby then smiled as she rubbed my hand before walking away to go get ready to go. I then went back to walk to Christie as I leaned against the counter. "I already told you thanks for watching him right? I really think me and Gabby need some time to relax after everything that has happened this week. I need to make sure that Gabby isn't overwhelmed right now." Christie then sighed and looked at me. "I wasn't going to say anything but...can I give you a woman's perspective on how I am reading her?" I nodded and went to put my coffee down.

Christie then sighed. "I feel like right now, everything is just hitting her. From what we've texted about...she's under a lot of stress. Between work, raising Matteo, her brother and his girlfriend having just suffered a miscarriage, and then your surrogate having COVID...those situations independently are already stressful enough. At least, they would stress me out. But, having to deal with them all at once...I think it's just been piling up and piling up. Now, I think that she's starting to hit her boiling point where she feels so scared that something will break."

I then stared at my sister and was shocked. Not just that she said that but, that I've been so blind to all of that. I mean, I already knew that Gabby was stressed but...when my sister explains it to me like that, it just all makes so much sense. Right now, Gabby is stressed so much that you can't even blame it solely on one single thing that you can deal with and get relief from. Instead, she's dealing with multiple situations all at once that are starting to get too much to handle. Just like when we learned that it was unsafe for her to go through with a pregnancy.

Deciding to take a minute to sit down, I just put my head in my hands and looked at Christie. "God, I am such an idiot. How could I not see that? I mean, she's my wife yet I didn't even see that." Christie sighed and walked over to me. "Matt, relax okay? It's not your fault that you missed that. But, my recommendation is to make sure that you both talk tonight. Just work through stuff and have a really good heart-to-heart. Take it from the woman who had to go through a horrible divorce. And from yourself. Don't make the same mistakes as last time Matt."

I nodded and agreed with everything she just said before sighing. "God, this is just going to be hard. I mean, how am I supposed to get he through this if something bad happens? She is already scared but, I just realized now that she is quite fragile too." Christie then rubbed my back and then nodded. "See, sometimes it's important to listen to your big sister." I then laughed when she said that and nodded. "I really need to talk to you more when it comes to this hormone stuff. You may not know Gabby but, you can sure understand her better."

Christie then sighed and went to grab my hand. "Matt, you understand Gabby better than anybody else in the world. Don't doubt that. You are her husband and know exactly what she needs when she needs it. You are taking her to a hotel to relax." I nodded and agreed. "I was thinking of going out first but, maybe instead we should just go to the hotel. I think she needs it and just needs to get out of this space. Too much bad news here recently." Christie sighed. "Matt, stop saying that it's just her. You got the bad news too. Has she asked you how you are?"

I then thought about it and shook my head. That's when I heard Gabby come out. She just looked at me when I said that. Tearing up, she sighed and felt ashamed. I then saw her put her head down and went to walk into our room. I just looked up at Christie. "Can you watch him? I need to go talk to her." Christie then nodded as I got up to go to our room and talk to Gabby.
