One Chicago: Health First Part 4

Chapter 1285

30 minutes later when Matt & Gabby are alone:
Matt's POV: As I walked around the bedroom, I sighed because I knew that Gabby's stress levels have literally just gone up in the past few hours. I then decided to set my clothes down in the drawers after having not even used them since we never stayed at the hotel. I am just glad that they understood and gave me a refund. But, what I wasn't happy about was the fact that Gabby was so stressed once again. This made me feel bad because the whole point of us going out to that hotel was to get her to relax, not to come home like this.

That's when I heard Gabby sit down in bed. Even though we haven't spoke about it yet, I really hoped that Gabby would be okay with talking about it. However, I decided to ask her first. "Are you going to want to talk about this or are we just going to ignore that it ever happened and just move on?" Gabby looked at me and sighed. "Matt, right now I am not really in a place where I want to talk about it. All I want to do right now is cuddle up to you in bed and relax in your arms. Is that okay? It's what we should've been doing right now anyways."

Gabby sighed again before looking at me. "Matt, you can't lie to me that you aren't stressed out too. I mean, you literally just had a fight with your sister again. Are you really going to keep choosing me over her?" I nodded as I walked over to her. I then moved to sit down on the bed with her before grabbing her hand. "Gabby, I will choose you any day of the week over anybody else. Well, maybe you and Matteo if that's possible. Oh and the little baby we are going to have later this year. Gabby, you know how important family is to me."

That didn't really help make the situation better considering we are talking about my sister, who is also my family. "Matt, Christie is your family. Don't you want a relationship with Violet?" I sighed when she said that before deciding to sit with her in bed. Wrapping my arm around her, I slipped under the covers with her when I felt her wrap her arms around me and put her head on my shoulder. "Gabby, my relationship with my sister can be independent from my relationship with my niece. We both know that's true."

Gabby then sighed as she went to grab my hand. I then intertwined our fingers and decided to whisper to her. "Here, let me lay down on my side and then you can slip into my arms like you do when we fall asleep in each other's arms." Gabby smiled and agreed. She then moved away so that I could lay down under the covers. Once I did that, she opened the covers too and then crawled over to me to lay down in my arms. Once she did that, I put my hand on her back while she put her hand on my chest. "Gabby, I'm here for you okay? You're my wife and I will always put you first. I've done it in the past and I will always do it again."

Gabby smiled when I said that before rubbing my chest. "But I can tell that's not the only thing that's bothering you." Gabby then sighed. "I am not sure how comfortable I am with my dad knowing where we live." I then thought about that and nodded before turning my head to kiss her softly. "He's going back to jail. And we can think about moving once our other little one is older. Please Gabby, you need to relax before you get all worked up again." Gabby nodded and agreed when I said that. "God, why must we be under so much stress right now? This is literally the last thing I need considering we are also dealing with my OCD diagnosis."

I nodded and agreed as I moved to kiss her forehead. I then decided to run my fingers through her hair to try and get her to relax. "Can I ask you a question Gabby?" Gabby then looked up at me and nodded. "Always." I then sighed and decided to go ahead with asking her my question. "Are you starting to not like living in Chicago again? You know, with all the stress that's happening here...if you could live anywhere in the world, would it still be Chicago right now? I mean, independent of me okay? I am going to follow you wherever from now on."

Gabby sighed when I asked that. "In my dream world, we would live in Puerto Rico while we volunteered. However, not yet okay Matt? Let's at least wait until we have 2 kids. Maybe next year we can really look into it. Now that we have my diagnosis, I think that's why I felt so much better there. It was so much less stressful. I mean, you know...other than the pregnancy. But, I wouldn't change a thing considering I am completely in love with Matteo. Oh, and his father." I laughed when she said that. "You better be because you are stuck with me for the rest of your life." Gabby smiled and agreed as she went to kiss me softly.

I then moved to rub her arm while we shared a nice slow kiss. That was, until we were disturbed by Matteo who just woke up from his nap. I then sighed and looked at Gabby while kissing her forehead. "Back to reality." Gabby then nodded and agreed. "Let's keep him in here and just have fun as a family. Save the adult fun for later tonight when we are naked in each other's arms." I turned to look at Gabby after getting up out of bed and hearing that. "Oh, we are totally doing that tonight. I need to give you stress relief somehow."

Gabby then laughed and smiled when I said that. Quickly leaning over her, I then moved to kiss her softly. "God, I love you so much." Gabby then smiled as she grabbed my hand. "I love you too. Now, go get him before he cries again." I then nodded before turning around to walk out of our bedroom so that I could go get Matteo in his nursery.
