20 Minutes Later, once Jim & Violet have left:
Matt's POV: As I finished locking up the door, I sighed as I looked at my sister. "Sorry that had to happen." Christie nodded. "It is partially my fault, I should've made Violet go. I knew Jim would've gotten mad." I agreed and nodded as I went to sit down next to her. "Listen, I am going to come back and spend time with you. But...I need to check on Gabby first okay?" Christie then looked at me. "She has OCD and Anxiety now?" I nodded. "She's had it for a while and has been suffering since we first got married. She's just getting treated for it now."

Christie nodded and understood. "Okay. Listen, I am staying though...I want to spend time with you guys. Now, if you don't want to tonight...I understand. But, tomorrow for certain." I nodded and agreed with her. "Listen, I will figure that our after. But right now, I need to go check on Gabby okay?" Christie nodded and understood as I got up. I then went to make my way to the bedroom and knocked on the door. "Babe, it's me. Can I come in?" I then went to walk in and just saw her standing at the window with Matteo in her arms.

Closing the door, I smiled as I locked it before walking up behind her. I then went to wrap my arms around her waist before kissing her shoulder softly. "They've both left. How are you doing though?" Gabby then turned around to look at me and sighed. "I am doing better. But wouldn't mind if I could just lay down in here with you for a while." I smiled and agreed with her. "You know, we could always ask my sister to take care of him tonight and tomorrow? Then I can make sure you are better after everything that has happened?"

Gabby shook her head. "Matt, it's your uncle that died. I should be the one doing that for you." I then nodded and agreed before moving to step close to her. I then moved to kiss her softly while putting her hands on her butt. "I am fine Gabby. I wasn't that close to my uncle but still...it's a lot. The real reason we need to rest is because our surrogate has COVID. Babe, you must be worried sick about that." Gabby sighed and nodded. "I need to relax more about that." I agreed with her before rubbing her arm. "Want me to ask my sister to watch him tonight?"

That's when I heard my sister walk up to the door and open it. "If you need me to, I understand. You guys have a lot going on." I then turned around and looked at her. "Seriously?" She then sighed. "Sorry, I overheard while going to the washroom. Just think about it. I mean, I am already sleeping in his nursery. Might as well help out however I can?" Gabby then bit her lip and looked at me. "I wouldn't mind having a night alone with you. Just nothing too intimate." I nodded and agreed. "Sure, let's get him in bed then and then we can relax." Gabby nodded and smiled. "I am going to go feed him okay?" I nodded and while as she walked away.

I then went to turn around and looked at my sister. "You positive that you are okay with this? I mean, I just don't want to abuse you being here." Christie nodded and smiled. "It's fine Matt. You guys need a break every once and a while. And remember, I am the one that offered to take him. If I wasn't sure about this then...I would've have offered." I nodded and agreed with her. "Thanks Christie." I then walked over to her and hugged my sister, smiling. "Hey, we will get through Jake's death. You want to figure out what we're doing as funeral tomorrow?" Christie sighed when I asked. "I don't even know who to talk about that."

I nodded and agreed. "Then we can do that tomorrow after me and Gabby go for a walk. Sorry but, I need to take Gabby out tomorrow. Us staying here probably isn't really helping her mental health and stuff." Christie nodded and agreed. "Shit, I hadn't even thought about that. Listen, you guys take however long you need tomorrow. Anyways, gives me time to meet my new nephew. I haven't really had much one on one time with him yet." I nodded and agreed. "That was partially my fault. We haven't reached out to you much."

Christie sighed. "Hey, it's my fault more than yours. I mean, what I said when he was born really put some distance between us and definitely didn't help my case for getting to know my nephew. But, one thing that I am still concerned about is where the heck mom is. I've tried to reach out to her but, I can't reach her. Have you been able to talk to mom about Jake's death yet?" I shook my head. "No, I haven't really heard from her since a Christmas text I got. I am not worried thought considering that is normal for her. I am just shocked that you are worried."

Christie sighed again. "I am trying to rebuild a relationship with mom. This pandemic has taught me that you really should appreciate the relationships you have and that you should try and make the best of every situation. Sure, do I have problems with mom? Of course I do, we both do. But, we can get past them because we need to. I want to be able to be in the same room as her without it being awkward when Matteo's first birthday comes around." I nodded and agreed with her before smiling. "God, I still can't believe he's already 6 months." Christie nodded.

"I told you that it goes by fast." I smiled and agreed when I saw Gabby come out of the nursery. "How about you come say goodnight and then we can head to bed?" I agreed and nodded. "Sure thing." I then looked at Christie. "Excuse me." Christie then nodded and walked out of our bedroom to sit down. Meanwhile, I walked into Matteo's nursery so that I could say goodnight to him.
