Chapter 1244

30 Minutes Later when Matt & Gabby are at the firehouse:
Matt's POV: As me and Gabby pulled up to the firehouse, I smiled when I saw that we weren't the only one of the off-shift couples there at the firehouse today. It turns out that Severide and Stella decided to visit too. Turning to look at Gabby and smiled. "Gabby, can I ask you something quick?" Gabby then turned to look at me. "Yeah, anytime." I smiled when she said that. "Can we tell Severide and Stella first?" She then saw them and smiled. "Uhm, of course! They are our best friends babe. Who else would I tell first? I mean, other than our family."

I nodded and agreed before looking at Matteo. "Hey buddy, ready to go see your aunts and uncles?" Matteo just relaxed in his car seat while playing with the hanging toys we had for him. "You got the stroller or me?" Gabby smiled. "I got it. Babe, you get him. He's behind you." I agreed and nodded before getting out of the car. I then opened the back and smiled at Matteo. "Hey little guy. You ready to go see some of mommy and daddy's friends?" Matteo then smiled as I picked him up. But, he started to cry when we didn't take him out.

I then sighed and looked at Gabby. "Can I at least undo the straps. I don't think he likes to have them done up all the time." Gabby turned to look at me and agreed, smiling. "Of course. I would rather he be comfortable than have him be cranky while we are here." That's when I heard Stella walk up to us. "Which one of those two are you talking about? Because last time I checked, Matt can be pretty cranky sometimes!" I then looked at her. "Hey! Watch it or else I am not going to be watching your future kids since we already have kids."

I then saw Kelly walk over and smiled at me. "What you doing here man?" I then went to put Matteo in his car seat before walking around the car. "You guys get the vaccine yet?" Severide nodded. "All of CFD did." I then smiled as I went to hug him. "Good because that means we can be close. So, how's the search for a place for Lieutenant Kidd-Severide coming?" Stella then looked at me and Severide. "Don't even get any ideas. It's staying Kidd. And thanks a lot Matt. By the way, what the hell is with your peppy voice?" Severide nodded.

"Yeah, whenever we talk...you guys are both in this mood where you are on like a high." I chuckled when he said that. "C'mon, we want to tell Mackey too. And what are you guys doing here anyways?" Stella smiled. "I just told Hermann that I am okay with coming back to work at Molly's." Gabby smiled when she said that. "When's your first shift back?" Stella laughed and went to show the keys. "Tonight with Diego. Apparently, I'm in the kitchen?"

I agreed and nodded. "Just to let you know Kelly, you can go with her. However, there is no beer." Kelly nodded and agreed. "I need to go. She's using my car to do deliveries." Stella then turned to look at him. "No, I am doing kitchen prep at the bar for Leon." I then smiled. "How did I not think of that idea? That way the delivery drivers aren't just sitting around." Stella smiled. "You guys coming in tonight?" Matt just shook his head. "No, family night before shift tomorrow."

Stella agreed and smiled. "Well, you are probably here to talk to chief so...we'll let you go." I then stopped her. "No, we actually have news we want to tell you first. Uhm..." Matt just walked over to me and wrapped his arm around me. "We're expecting." Severide then stared at me. "Holy shit, you got her pregnant dude?" Matt then shook his head. "She's not pregnant. We are using a surrogate." Stella then turned to look at Severide. "Severide, you knew that already." 

Severide then bit his lip and nodded. "Right, of course. Sorry." I then shook my head and smiled. "Listen, as much as we like talking to you...I need to go talk to Chief. We need to tell him this so that he knows that we may need to leave shift sometimes if there's an appointment like an ultrasound or something?" Severide nodded and agreed. "Of course, we're leaving now anyways. But first, can we take a look at the little guy?" 

I nodded and agreed. "Of course." I then opened the shade and smiled at Severide. Looking at him, I could tell that Severide was starting to have baby fever. "Watch it Stella, you may be starting a family sooner rather than later. I have a feeling that Severide has baby fever." Stella nodded and smiled. "About that...we were going to wait until further along. But, we just learned we might be pregnant." Gabby stared at her and was shocked. "Stella, oh my god!" Gabby then went to hug her. "How far along?"

Stella smiled. "Maybe 2 months." I then went to shake Severide's hand. "Hey, you come to me whenever you need advice. Now, what does this mean for the wedding?" Severide sighed. "We are pushing it up 2 months. So, it's June 12th now if that's okay. I mean, if Molly's can still host it?" Gabby nodded and agreed. "Of course we can! I will talk to Hermann." I agreed and smiled. "You dear, relax. And get ready because this is going to be an exciting year for you." Stella smiled and nodded. "Listen, we'll talk later. Go talk to Boden and tell him. Shock him because we just did."

I agreed and smiled. "Oh, trust me...this is going to be a shock. And a huge baby boom." We all agreed and smiled. "C'mon Gabby, we need to tell chief about our little bundle of joy." Gabby then nodded and smiled. "Of course. I am going to call you when we get home okay. I expect to talk to you." Stella agreed and nodded. "Of course, talk later." Gabby then walked over to me and grabbed my hand as we walked in together with Matteo so we could tell Chief our news.
