Sherlock is broken. You don't think he understands how you feel because of how he holds himself in front of others, and most importantly, you. Instead of deducing your feelings, he urges you to explain them to him, to talk to him about them. The entire time you do this, his eyes tinge pink and appear glossy with tears.

John feels so much pain hearing you put yourself down and tell him you are not good enough for him. He can barely look at you breaking down because he knows he won't be able to help you if he also breaks down. So he tries to stay strong, listening to you talk before he begins to try and make you feel better.

For the first time ever, you see Jim break along with you. He cries silently, determined not to distract you or make you feel bad as you explain to him how you feel. Inside he's shattered that he hasn't helped you sooner, and instead let you get to the point where you feel like you have to put an act on in front of him.

He listens to everything you have to say no matter how hard it is to hear. Despite appearing strong for you, inside he feels so guilty for not asking you if you were okay earlier - before you began to feel like this. You assure him it's not his fault, but is empathy doesn't allow him to go guilt free.

While you speak, he desperately searches his mind for the right thing to say or do. But he can't find it. No one has opened up to him like this before, and though he's glad you have, it's hard for him to know how to make it better. This results in him being visibly worried the entire time you speak.
