Thank you so much Original_TiddlyWink for giving me the idea for this one and a few more to come! I am always open to requests, so if you ever think of one just let me know. If you don't feel comfortable enough to read this preference due to the topic it covers, that's perfectly okay - know that my dms are always open to chat and that things can and will only get better. I have a lot of other preferences that are much happier and lighter than this one, so if you still want to read one I'd suggest reading one of those. SHERLOCK

Sherlock is upset with himself for not realising sooner, but he won't let you know that because he doesn't want to put more on your plate. Instead, he tells you how much he cares about you, and says that though he doesn't truly know how you feel, he wants to understand. He encourages you to talk about your feelings and what you are going through, but he will never pressure you.
JOHN

John can empathise with you, and makes you feel understood and wanted. He's a bit freer with his feelings for you in situations like this, and will tell you how much he loves you and what you mean to him. He's not judgemental and he would never dream of criticizing you like this. You feel safe and comfortable with him even in such a vulnerable state.
MORIARTY

Jim is shocked, but he tries his best to hide it. He had no idea you felt like this, so he'll sit down and really listen to you. You explain what you want to do, but even if you're not 100% sure why, he's completely calm and tells you that he will help you work it out. He repeats things back to you in his own words to show you that he's truly listening, and then narrows down possible things in your life/ feelings that may lead you to feel like this.
LESTRADE

Greg is very reassuring that you will not feel this way forever because he knows that you are strong, and not alone. You have him, and he loves you more than anything. He also encourages you to focus on getting through each day than focussing on the future. He's very comforting physically, and will hold you if you want him to and only release you when you want to be released. He knows he may not be enough to help you, so he encourages you to get help, but understands if you don't want to yet. It takes a lot of courage to say that you need help.
MYCROFT

Mycroft is silent while you talk, and then when you have finished he speaks very softly and calmly. He will make sure you are not in imminent danger, and then, in a safe environment, he'll ask you a few questions about how you feel and why you may feel that way. He's very logical, and explains how whatever you are going through, you will eventually get past it and be stronger because of it. He tells you that you are not alone, and that he cares about you so so much. If you are comfortable with it, he will also encourage you to get more professional help - he knows that sometimes it's easier to talk to someone else than someone you know.
