The world had collapsed. An experiment to end war only caused it, leading to broken families and several lives experiencing a fate worse then death. What was this experiment you might ask? What could cause such carnage?

A simple microchip that gets implanted into a person. A tiny little chip, that causes the end of times. Code is contained in the chip to send signals to the brain of whatever the one controlling the chip asks. Basically, it allows people to control other people and make them mindless dolls.

It was meant to be used on enemy soldiers in wars to get information or to increase numbers by making them fight their own country, the ultimate solution to end war and create prosperity. After all, if chips were implanted in other country leaders, the world would exist in harmony. Or so they thought...

Once word got out about the chips, other countries began trying to create ways to neutralize the chip's affects. However all they did was make a terrible, terrible mistake that would lead to the beginning of the end...

They created a virus to shut down the microchips, but the wrong data was put into them... instead of the file with the shutdown being in there, it was a file of war and evolution. Giving the chips a will of their own...

Slowly they took over their hosts and stopped listening to commands of their original creators. They took over the labs and started making, thousands, then MILLIONS of the chips to be placed in the humans.

It spread like an illness. The lab workers were first, then they would go back to their families and inject it in them, who in turn would go to friends and extended family and the list went on and on until over half of the population was taken over.

However some survived. They found a way to live, and a way to fight back.

The chips couldn't sense them when they were underground, so that's where the humans began building their safe havens. However this didn't solve the issue of how horrible outnumbered the humans were. Something that a few brave humans figured out while losing their lives in the process.

The robots or 'hosts' as they were more commonly called, had one weak spot that would shut them down in a way bullets and other wounds hadn't been able to.

There was a small scar where the chip had been injected. If a human hits it hard enough, the chip will malfunction and they will die. The only problem is that the human the person used to be also dies. And other then the one file in a facility no one could get to, there was no other way to shut down the host.

It was sad, and several people had lost family to these robots, but... nothing could be done. The people became doll's with absolutely no memory of their former selves when the chip was injected. After all, it was more efficient that way. Without memories, the former human would be easy to control.

Not even the strongest could fight the code. Soldiers, good people, leaders, it didn't matter who you were, once the chip is in... you'll lose all trace of who you used to be.

One such person is a perfect example of that...

Meliodas, the boy who gave hope to humans back... and the boy who lost himself, to save his brothers.
