#47 MelBan Request #2

Ban was still trying to process what he was seeing. Meliodas, his adorable, short, and cheerful little boyfriend, had been snuggling fast asleep with a blanket like it was a person, tears streaming down his face as he had a nightmare.

It took a minute for it to settle in his mind, but once he heard Meliodas whimper he stepped into action and gently shook his love awake.

"Hey, hey Mel. Wake up baby. Come on."

He slowly stirred before he shot up while breathing heavily. Ban rubbed his back while trying to soothe the boy. Who in turn slowly calmed down before looking at Ban incredulously.

"B-Ban? What're you doing in my room?"

"I saw you were having a nightmare and was trying to wake you up. Are ya okay?"

Meliodas looked away, clearly not wanting to relive the nightmare.

"Y-Yeah I'm.. I'm fine..."

He could tell Meliodas wanted him to just let it go, but based on that kind of reaction, Ban wasn't about to just pretend it was nothing.

"Listen Mel, you were crying. That isn't normal even for a nightmare, and it definitely wasn't nothing. I know you have a hard time trusting people, but I need to know what's going on with you."

The blind stayed silent for awhile as if debating what to do before he took a deep breath and opened his mouth to speak.

"I... didn't really grow up in a very happy home.. That's probably to be expected since I'm a demon, but... mine was even worse then normal. I almost died several times because of how badly my father would beat me and even had others do the same. That's why I'm as strong as I am... because if I failed I would face my father's wrath again... It's been a long time and I know I'm being silly for still being affected but... I guess I still have nightmares because of it. You and the sins are amazing and really being here is... the first time I've had a real family. My mind just... keeps going back to...that."

Ban didn't know what to say. What could he say to something like that? Meliodas had always been so strong and cheerful no matter what, sure Ban had seen a softer side to him, but that strength had still always been there. Knowing he was subjected to something like that..

Sickened Ban. It sickened him knowing he couldn't do anything about it, it sickened him knowing the blond felt like it was silly to be upset about it, it sickened him knowing that the boy's own father had done something like that.

He would kick the guy's ass if he could for hurting his Mel.

Not knowing what else to do, he wrapped Mel in a tight hug, something he tensed at in confusion before he quickly relaxed into the warmth, a soft noise coming from him while he did so.

Ban pulled away when he heard that noise and furrowed his brows in confusion while Meliodas blushed brightly and turned his head to the side.

"S-Sorry..."

He wasn't used to seeing Meliodas so flustered and was wondering what he had done that had caused that reaction.

"What was that Mel?"

"U-Um... th-that was..."

He could tell the other was clamming up so he made the boy look at him before kissing him gently, helping the blond relax some.

"It's okay kitten... you can tell me."

His voice was gentle as was the nickname Ban had given Meliodas when they first started dating. The boy relaxed slightly and took a deep breath before answering.

"That was... a purr. I was... purring..."

It took a minute for the words to click in Ban's head but once he did he started laughing. Hard. Something thst caused Meliodas to blush even more as he wrapped the blanket tightly around him.

"B-Ban..."

"I can't believe it... Y-You really are a kitten! PFFFTTT HAHAHAHH!!!"

The boy pouted at the teasing as he turned away. Only to be grabbed and forced into a tight hug.

"It's okay my little kitten. I like your purr. It's cute. And as for your... other words. Thank you for opening up to me."

Mel smiled as he eased into the hold Ban had on him. However the peace was short-lived as Ban said something that made him tense.

"Although... how that I know what you went through... you know what this means... right?"

The boy blinked before he began to tense again in fear at what the other would say. However that quickly changed to shock as he was lifted up and held princess style by Ban who was peppering his face in kisses.

"That means I have to make up for all of the shit your stupid dad put you through by lots of love and cuddles!"

Meloodas went to protest this sudden clingy behavior only for his answer to change to exclaim when Ban started walking towards the bar with him still in the immortal's arms.

Ban kept to his word for months. Not once letting the boy go without constant affection and love. He would carry him most places and otherwise would cuddle or kiss the boy constantly.

Meliodas would protest this quite a bit, but regardless of what he said... he loved knowing that someone truly cared for him, and he absolutely needed the cuddles from Ban because every time they were given... it was like all of his pain melted away from the warmth of Ban's hugs.
