"Baaaan..."

The immortal in question sighed and looked over at the boy buried in a mountain of his clothes and jackets.

"Yeah love?"

"Come heeeeerrreee.."

He would be lying if he said he didn't find the boy's actions absolutely adorable, but he had some work that he needed to get done before he could start cuddling with the blond, even though the demon protested greatly to that.

The two had been together for almost two years now and it had been some of the best Ban had experienced since Elaine. Meliodas helped ease that pain and helped him move past it, just as Ban had helped Meliodas begin to open up and trust others.

The immortal knew the blond was a demon and had for over a year now, and yet something that would've horrified him in the past was something that he currently found amusing because of the situation it had put Meliodas in.

Demons had one time a year where they would become incredibly possessive and clingy with their chosen mate. There were dominant and submissive demons, each reacting differently with their mate.

For example a dominant wouldn't let their mate out of sight for fear of another male/female taking them, while submissives were incredibly cuddly because they wanted to feel safety and comfort from the one they trusted as their mate.

Meliodas was a submissive, which was why he was currently pouting as Ban turned down cuddling yet again.

Since the captain was out of the line of duty right now, Ban had been trusted to help run the tavern since he knew how to better then the others. However Ban knew Meliodas couldn't care any less about the tavern right now as the blond gave him the pleading little puppy dog eyes.

Feeling his resolve waver slightly, he sighed and took off his shirt before walking over to the boy currently enjoying looking at his abs.

"Here you go baby. You can snuggle with this until I can come over.. okay?"

Meliodas gladly took the shirt and purred while nuzzling against it. Ban absolutely loved when Meli purred. He had asked awhile back what it meant when a demon purred and ever since he got an answer he has been addicted to hearing his love purring.

It meant that the demon was very happy and trusted whoever they were around enough to purr, something that showed submission and pure joy.

The reason Ban loved this was because it meant the secretive and aloof blond Ban had known as his captain for years, trusted him. Truly trusted him on even the deepest level. That's why a large smile came onto his face when he heard the purrs increase.

Going back to his work, he felt the hours tick by slowly as he finally managed to call it quits, Meliodas waiting impatiently all the while.

"Alright love, let's go to our room."

A cross of a purr and a chitter left Meliodas as he grabbed Ban by the hand and sped to his room.

Of course however, he couldn't snuggle down without a nest so he quickly grabbed the mountain of Ban's clothes he had previously been using and arranging them so the two could snuggle comfortablely.

It was adorable how reliant demons were with scent. Their mate's scent was the most crucial part to them. They needed it constantly around them because no one else could have the same smell as their mate. They were trained once they imprinted on their mate that that was what meant their mate was near.

That's why Ban didn't mind Mel taking most of his wardrobe and using it as a nest, nor did he mind him nuzzling into the crook of the man's s neck while he let out a satisfied purr.

"Happy now?"

"Yeah... I love being near mate."

Ban chuckled at the response as it was accented by Meliodas snuggling closer and rubbing his cheek against the other's.

"Well I love mate too."

He watched as Meliodas moved from his spot to look at the other in the eyes. Love and devotion there in the emerald hue.

"You... really love me?"

Ban was kind of shocked by the reaction, but played it off on the fact that Meliodas's emotions were incredibly heightened right now.

"Well, yeah. Of course I do Mel."

A look Ban couldn't describe other than being bittersweet filled the boy's expression as he snuggled back down.

"Even though I'm... a monster?"

The words were so timid and sad, something Ban rarely heard in the blond's voice and something he definitely didn't like.

"Why do you think you're a monster Mel? That isn't true."

"But... I've hurt people before... I could hurt you too... What if I hurt you mate?"

At this point tears were in the boy's eyes and Ban could tell this was something that had been on the blond's mind for awhile. The only reason it was surfacing now was because of how heightened his emotions and feelings were.

"Hey shhhh.. it's okay Mel. I'M okay, there isn't any reason to worry. I trust you baby. I know you won't hurt me."

"B-But what if-"

"No buts. Listen to me Mel, I love you, and I wouldn't say this if it weren't true. You're a good person and I know you'd never hurt me intentionally. I'm a lot stronger then I look ya know."

"Yeah but you're so fragile compared to me, humans always are. I don't want to lose you like I lost everything else..."

He didn't comment on the whole "like everything else" as that was a conversation for another time, right now he needed to make sure Meliodas felt as happy as the boy made him.

Kissing him gently as the shocked blond quickly relaxed into it with a soft purr, he pulled away and made sure Meliodas saw how serious he was when he said the next words.

"I'm okay, and I'm gonna be okay in the future too. I'm not going anywhere baby... I'm staying with you until the world ends. Got it?"

The boy still had hesitancy in his eyes, but relaxed softly as the words reassured him.

"Okay mate..."

The boy yawned as his eyes began to flutter.

"I love you mate..."

"I love you too baby."

Ban watched with a soft smile as Mel began to drift off, his breathing slowing and his face relaxed.

I mean it Mel... I truly, truly love you.

This is definitely not my best work but I hope you liked it. I'm still not used to writing this ship even though I love it and this was a simple little story. I'll try to write some more soon. Oh, also this was recommended by IOnlyWantToRead1. I hope you like it!
