Elizabeth POV:

I walked along the cemented path with a spring in my step on the way to school. My family had moved away for a few years due to my father's work wanting him stationed someone else, and it had left me absolutely heartbroken.

Regardless of my shy nature and tendency to be a stuttering mess, I had friends at my school. Ones I wouldn't give up for the world.

They had been with me since kindergarten, and had stayed by my side until my early teenage years when we had to move.

They had seen me at my worst, and had made some of my moments where I was at my best. Who are these people I keep going on about? Well, they are a group that had become more of a family than my own.. a group called The Seven Deadly Sins.

Now that my father has been promoted to a desk job rather than the busy work of an active police officer, we decided to move back. No longer having to worry about the constantly traveling.

I am on my way to my "first day" of school now, and regardless of most people's reactions to such an occasion. I was completely thrilled to see everyone. However, this was quickly starting to fade as I approached the building.

I wanted to see everyone so badly I could practically taste it. After all, these people were my family, but... did they feel the same way?

Regardless of our promise to meet again if we were ever separated, whether by life, college, or just the ticking of time, a few years had passed since then, and I could still remember th heartbroken expressions on each of their faces when I said I had to leave.

Diane, my sweet, loving, bubbly, chatty, big sister, had cried so much when I had told her I was going away..

Ban, the seemingly cold, selfish, sarcastic, actually sweet, kind, funny, and smart big brother, had seemed livid and so sad when I had said I wouldn't be pulling pranks with him anymore..

King, the aloof, lazy, intelligent, funny, kind, best friend who had always let me talk to him when I was upset, had been trying so hard not to cry...

All of the others showed similar reactions to my departure.

Merlin, Escanor, Gowther, and..... Meliodas...

Meliodas had been the glue that held everyone together over the years. If you were sad, he would give you a shoulder to cry on and words of wisdom beyond his years. If you were angry, he would take your harsh words and angry cries, and give you kind words of comfort and apologies in reply, as well as beat up anyone else who had made you feel that way. If you were happy, he would make sure that absolutely nothing ruined your day and celebrate along with you, even if he didn't know why you were celebrating.

He did this for every one of his friends, as many times as needed, and as many hours it took to help them get through whatever it was bothering them. All with a smile on his face, and a warm look in his eyes.

Even when I had told him I was leaving.. he still tried to be strong to make me feel better. But that didn't mean I didn't see the pain behind his emerald eyes...

The bell rang its loud song and forced me from my thoughts and sent me back to the present.

Oh no! I'm gonna be late!

Forgetting my previous anxiety, I hurried up the remaining stairs to the large building in front of me and ran through the luckily open doors.

This is it.. I have to be strong, no matter what their reaction is... I have to be strong so I can make it through this. Besides.. they're my best friends.. even if they're upset, I know we'll make it through this together.

How wrong I was... at least, in certain ways..

As I made my way into the building with a positive mindset to give me courage to do so, I found the place looking bigger and better than I remembered it.

The halls were as busy as ever, but bigger now to provide more space and redone to allow for a more pleasing look.

I wonder if the teachers are the same? I hope Ms. Margaret is still here! She was always so sweet in class. I remember father telling me she married his colleague last year, Gilthunder I believe was his name.

Forcing the nervous pit down as several students seemed to notice the new arrival, even in these crowds, I continued walking with my head down until I heard a familiar voice bring me ease.

"No. Flipping. Way. ELIIIIIIIIEE!!!!"

The voice reached pitches only dogs could hear as Diane ran up to me and smushed me in a tight hug. I could barely even breath with how tightly I was squeezed.

"D-Diane.. c-can't bre-eathe.."

"Oops!"

The brunette let me go fast as I took deep breaths to try to salvage the air my body was robbed off.

"Ahhh! I can't believe you're heeeeerrre! Is it temporary? Are you here for good? How have you been? You haven't gotten that nasty cold going around have you? Have you already had a tour or can I show you around? Oh King is going to be so happy to see you again! Ban too! Oh and I can't wait for you to meet one of our new teachers. His name is Hawke. He acts all tough but give him a bag of chips and he'll let you do whatever you want for the rest of the class. What's your schedule like? Do we have any of the same classes or-"

"Geez Diane. You haven't gone on a rant like that since King kissed you for the first time."

Another voice interrupted the excited one of my friend as my heart skipped a beat at hearing its sarcastic tone again after so long.

"Ban look! Look! It's Ellie!"

A nervousness replaced my happiness as he just glanced at me with barely any emotion on his face.

Is he... Is he mad that I left? I didn't really reach out much, maybe he felt I just ditched him?

"No shit Diane. Hawke announced last week that a new student named Elizabeth would be joining us and her dad got back in town around that time. Who'd ya think it would be?"

"W-What? When did he announce THAT!"

"In CLASS. Where we're supposed to study."

"Since when do YOU care about studying."

"I don't, but Elaine gets mad when I don't pay attention and I don't feel like being scolded."

"She's got you wrapped around her finger doesn't she~ Who knew your rebellious stage would stop once you fancy a girl!"

"Oh shut it. I'm just trying to avoid a headache. Although kinda pointless when you're givin me one now!"

She stuck her tongue out at him childishly while I watched the interaction with a slight twinge of sadness and jelousy.

I've missed so much... Harlequin and Diane are together? Who's Elaine? Where are the others?

However the biggest question running through my mind was selfishly, where was Meliodas?

In my two old friend's bickering, they had mentioned everyone at least once except for him. Why was that? Was it intentional or just that he hadn't come up?

Deciding to interrupt briefly to voice my concerns, I noticed a change in them as I did.

"So, um.. Would you two happen to know where Meliodas us? You haven't mentioned him at all."

The two exchanged sad and worried looks while I felt my anxiousness grow. Although that anxiety wouldn't have been able to prepare me for what was said next.

Okay, it's finally up people! Different direction than originally intended, but hey, I wasn't really getting anywhere otherwise. I'm sorry this is so crummy and it took LITERALLY YEARS for an additional 589 words to be added. There will probably be another part or two. Let me know what you think!
