Research. It was one of Merlin's many talents. It didn't matter if no one else knew about it, she could find out through books and scrolls alone. Thousands of books could be made on the subject and yet she would have no problem reading each one. She was a master at finding things that most couldn't, and that was why the sins decided to turn to her to find out more about the Captian's race.
After discovering he was a demon during the fight in Vanya, Ban, King, and Diane decided to learn all they could about it to not only be able to take him down if the time came, but also to learn about the elusive and secretive person that was their captain.
None of them knew much about him even if they respected the blond, so even just as much as his age or certain traits of demons would be helpful.
Especially when it came to fighting him if needed later on.
"Oy! Merlin!"
"Ban! Keep your voice down, she might be busy."
"Sorry your highness. SOME of us want to get this done sometime today!"
The fairy went to respond only to be stopped by Diane who was tired of their childish bickering.
"Enough you two! Let's just get this done."
Soon after the words were spoken, the very mage they were trying to find found them instead, teleporting in front of the team looking through her lair.
"What brings you three here? It's not often someone stops by my lab."
They were startled by the sudden voice and appearance, but pushed it aside to focus on the important task at hand.
"O-Oh, we were wondering if you'd be willing to-"
"We need to learn more about the demon race. We were wondering if ya got any books or something here that'll help us."
Ban interrupted King's polite way of asking to go with a much more direct approach. Something that annoyed the fairy deeply.
"Ah yes. A fascinating race with an even more fascinating story."
"What do you mean?"
All of them were intrigued by the uncharacteristically excited tone in the normally aloof mage's voice.
"Well, as you all know, the goddess race and demon are complete opposites. However they share the same origin."
"HUH?!"
The shocking news caused the group to speak in unusual sync, something that caused the women to chuckle.
"Indeed. Originally, only goddesses existed. Beings of light that protected not only humans, but the other races as well to exist in harmony. They were very powerful, but since their power came from the human's prayers and the light that existed in them, it wasn't long that darkness began to spread as greed, lust, envy, wrath, sloth, and gluttony filled the human's hearts as well."
The seven deadly sins..
It was a grim thought as it made each reflect on their own sins that were held in their title.
"The darkness that began to influence the humans soon spread to the fairies, giants, and other races that inevitably began to twist and darken the goddesses until they soon became corrupt with a darkness that morphed them into the opposite of who they used to be. The only reason not all goddesses changed is because of the light that still remained in people. The darkness couldn't destroy it all, so it simply became a balance. Each and every creature born having an equal amount of dark and light. It is said that the choices humans and other creatures make is what causes the shift. The more they sin and let darkness influence their lives, the more goddesses fall. Just as the more light in the world the more demons are destroyed. This is what is said that led to the war between the goddesses and demons as both tried to influence the creatures that controlled their power and population. Eventually the goddesses sealed away the demons along with themselves so the races could be protected from the evil influence, however some on both sides escaped which is why we are still made of light and dark." (I know this is kind of an odd part to add, but it's also a foreshadowing for another one-shot or story idea. 😉)

Oneshots!
FanfictionA bunch of oneshots that I've been wanting to do! They will not have any relation to one another unless the story is a 2-5 part story. The stories will also have a possibility of becoming books later on if people enjoy the story or I feel like there...
