Zeldris was humiliated. He was strong for a demon, sure. But he wasn't strong for the Demon King's son.

Out of his family, he was the disgrace. The screw up that needed the other's to pick up after him. Meliodas was the most feared in all of the demon realm, his power even comparing to the Demon King's himself. And even though Estarossa wasn't quite there yet, he was already accomplishing impressive feats at the young age of 500. And then there was Zeldris...

He was a skilled fighter, but his power level itself was embarrassing. No matter how hard he trained, no matter how hard he worked.. it was never enough. He was already 350 and yet he still couldn't even defeat a small group of goddesses that had surrounded him, bringing him here, in front of his father's doors trying to prepare himself for the punishment he would receive.

Usless.. absolutely pathetic.. Sir Meliodas or Estarossa could have done it in two minutes, tops. It was only twenty after all, and they weren't even high ups. And yet I let my guard down and lost the fight in only a few moments... disgraceful...

Too caught up in his scolding thoughts, he didn't notice a certain demon walk up to him. One that was feared by all as well as respected, the one named Meliodas.

"It's rude to ignore your elders when they are talking to you."

The boy's head shot up at the voice and instantly panic, shame, guilt, fear, and twisting disappointment in himself for failing in front of his idol, filled the young demon in a dance that forbid him from getting a proper sentence out.

"I-I-I S-Sir Meliodas! I-I didn't mean to Sir! Please forgive me!"

The other arched an eyebrow, the only difference in his still completely neutral and almost bored looking face.

"Oh? You didn't mean to? Just like you "didn't mean to" go into forbidden territory and try and take on goddesses beyond your league?"

Once again, the boy felt a wave of emotions fill him, none of them good ones. He avoided his brother's gaze as even so much as standing near the demon was making him feel ten times smaller and more insignificant that he already was.

"You purposeful disobeyed orders, Zeldris... my orders. Do you know how dangerous your mistake was? How completely irresponsible your actions were? You are weak, the goddesses now know this and will target us becasue of this new information. Do you even want to try explaining your actions today?"

The child felt so small in the presence of his irritated and disappointed brother. It was very rare the prince showed any emotion, so the fact that it was angry, and directed at Zeldris, made him feel as if all of his hearts had been stabbed at once along with any hope he had held onto of making his brother proud and being stronger. How was he supposed to answer with how hard it was to even think right now?
