Set in the past with goddess Elizabeth and demon Meliodas. Also requester by CarmelPenguin (Sorry if I misspelled that and thank you for the idea.)

Meliodas had always been possessive of Elizabeth. He trusted that she would never do anything to betray him, however it was other men he didn't trust. After all, his sweet, adorable, and naive little goddess was very attractive and had a kind personality to go with it.

She was the rarest gem of all to Meliodas, and he was scared that others would see just how wonderful she was and try to take her from him. Of course he had told himself time and time again that this wasn't the case, but he found it hard not to doubt when she was so pure compared to him.

He was already lucky that she let someone as tainted as him be in the same room as her, let alone love such a dark and twisted creature so unworthy of being in her presence.

He often had nightmares about her realizing how horrible he was and discovering how many bad things he had done, most ending with her leaving him, but some in which she wouldn't and he would kill her himself after reverting back to that horrible monstrosity.

He hated how weak he felt around her, how incomplete he was when she wasn't there. He was absolutely terrified of her leaving because he knew he wouldn't survive it. She had become the very air he breathed and an essential part of him that he was so scared of losing.

He didn't know when exactly she had become so important to him, however he knew that he cared for her long before be admitted.

Her smile, her laugh, her kindness, her silliness, all of these traits and actions broke down each and every wall one by one effortlessly. Regardless of the years he had spent creating them.

She had done what no other had and accessed a part of him he didn't even know still existed.

At first it frustrated the demon, the confusing feelings all so foreign, however eventually he grew to like it. After all, those walls had guarded a part of himself he couldn't destroy nomatter how hard he tried, and she was the only one who he could show it to.

Soon the confusion turned to fondness, like having a pet around. They don't serve much purpose, but are entertaining. Then the feelings turned to happiness, like getting to see a friend again for the first time in awhile. And finally it turned to love. Something he still couldn't wrap his head around. The love for her continued to grow and grow inside of him until it turned into full need. He needed her.

And that's why he was utterly terrified of losing her whether through her realizing his flaws or someone else taking her from him.

This irrational fear continued to grow for the six months they had been together. Until it became a problem in their relationship.

"What were you doing out with him!?"

"I was just eating lunch! He offered to pay for me and I thought it rude not to let him eat with me after! I already told you that's all!"

"You really expect me to believe that you ran into the person your mother wanted you to marry accidently and them ate lunch with him because you thought it rude not to?! Don't lie to me Elizabeth!"

"I'm not lying to you! Why would I lie to you about something like that? In fact, why would there be anything going on between us!? He's engaged to someone else and knows that I'm with you!"

"That doesn't always stop someone!"

"Are you serious? Do you trust me so little, think me so unfaithful, that you think I would cheat with someone I chose to turn down because I wanted to be with you!? When have I ever done something to hurt you like that Mel?! Why do I have this fight with you every time I want to leave our meeting spot so I can go hang out with friends! Not even just men! Any time I try to spend time with ANYONE that isn't you, you throw a tantrum and we fight as if I've done something horrible to you! I-I can't do this anymore!"
