The smell of cleaner and hand sanitizer were the first thing that the boy could sense as consciousness tried to flood back to him. Then it was the sound of a consistent beep nearby and two voices discussing something. After that was the feeling of discomfort from something in his arm and a throbbing that pulsed throughout his body, as if he had been hit by a truck. Before finally, a bright light filled his eyes as they both opened and pushed away the darkness that had filled them for much longer than he knew.
Trying to sit up to see where he was and why he felt like this, he heard the two voices converse once more while one of them appeared to leave the room after some protest.
"It appears you're finally awake patient Tatsuya. How are you feeling? Any pain in your head or chest?"
The teen blinked a few times, trying to comprehend who the man was and why he was asking these questions.
"Can you understand what I'm saying? Are you having trouble comprehending things?"
The man in the coat grabbed a chart and prepared to write down something when the boy finally managed to make himself talk, the sound coming out much more hoarse and strained than he had known it was.
"I.. I can understand you just fine. And to answer your question about the pain.. I feel like I was hit by a truck. Why are you asking this though? Where am I?"
The man who had begun writing down supposedly what the young adult was telling him, stopped mid-word as he heard what the other had asked. This only worried the boy more.
"Patient Tatsuya... If you don't mind I would like to ask you a few questions."
The other nodded, feeling worried by his tone.
"What is your name?"
"My name is... M-My name is..."
He paused, feeling confused and alarmed by the blank in his mind that should have been something he knew by heart. Why couldn't he remember his name? Why was his head throbbing just by him trying to remember it? Where was he?
"I see... Do you remember any relatives or family?"
Once again he opened his mouth to speak but no sound came out as his mind once again went blank.
The doctor sighed as he wrote some things down on the chart.
"I was afraid this might happen.. The risks were quite high.. I have one more question patient Tatsuya. Is that alright?"
He nodded, his eyes filled with fear and anxiousness by the words spoken from the other and his inability to remember even small things.
"What is the last thing you remember doing? Alone or with someone else."
A minute passed, then two. The boy didn't want to answer for he knew it would be the same reply as the other two. He didn't know. His brain felt fuzzy and his head felt hot, as if he had stood up really quickly and got a dizzy spell.
He could tell he was close to having a panic attack, but was cut from his spiraling thoughts from the man from before talking again.
"Alright, I've heard enough. Patient Tatsuya, you are here because of a necessary surgery that you had to undergo after getting into an accident. You suffered brain injury and almost died on table. We stabilized you and you seemed to be recovering nicely, however there was a thirty percent chance you would suffer brain damage or memory loss. We are lucky it is the second day one because there is a chance you will recover your memories, while brain damage is typically impossible to recoup from. I understand this is a lot to take in, but we are going to need to take some tests to make sure there isn't any other damage done. After that you can go back home to rest and recover from the strain your body has undergone. Do you understand everything?"

Oneshots!
FanficA bunch of oneshots that I've been wanting to do! They will not have any relation to one another unless the story is a 2-5 part story. The stories will also have a possibility of becoming books later on if people enjoy the story or I feel like there...
