Please Don't Go (Preview)

Meliodas has struggled with depression his whole life, a fact hidden from all, even his two brothers who are the only reason he's still alive.

He had a good life: Friends, family, a good personality that most liked, all of these weren't foreign concepts to him. However, there were a few things about his life that he didn't tell anyone.

Like how he was working four jobs in order to support the family he loved so dearly, or that his closest friends didn't know him nearly as well as they thought they did, which in turn terrified the boy that if they were to find out what he was really like they'd leave. Just like his dear parents who didn't want him and left him with two younger brothers to take care of, all of the popularity and charm in the world wouldn't be able to make up for that.

Everything in his life was twisted in some kind of way, even his blessings and good fortunes had some bad memory attached to them that he was forced to suppress.

However regardless of his mental struggles, lowering grades in school, and increase in exhaustion and bills due to his little brother, Zeldris, breaking his arm last month with medical bills as proof, he forced a smile onto his face and made sure he never showed his loved ones how chipped he was, and soon to be broken.

He knew quite well what he was doing wasn't healthy, but he didnt have a choice. He didn't want any more stress be added to his family or friend's plates, and didn't have the money to see someone about this.

Especially not now..

His eyes dulled even further as he counted up the medical as well as normal bills that needed to be paid within the next month.

I might need to get another job.. at least part time. Can I even though? With school, babysitting, delivering pizzas, working as a waiter at the bar down the street, and lawn services, I don't have time for anything else. But... we need the money..

With a sigh, he ran a hand through his hair, not knowing what else to do.

"Um.. Meli?"

His head shot up towards the preteen trying to get his attention.

"Yeah? What's up Zeldris?"

His previous exhaustion and stress was now hidden behind a strained smile he was growing accustomed to putting on.

"Oh, well.. I just wanted to say I'm sorry... I know how hard you're working, and I have a feeling my injury didn't help much as far as money.."

He blinked, feeling horrible that his little brother felt he had to worry about this kind of stuff at such a young age.

"Don't worry about it! I have plenty of savings saved up so we'll be just fine, I promise Zeldy. Just leave that boring stuff to me, I'll take care of it."

Of course, that wasn't the complete truth.. He would always take care of his family, and had vowed to himself never to let them worry about finances for him again, but the thing about the savings... well that wasn't the truth. He had had to spend the savings on last months bills due to him being behind and needing money quickly.

After a few minutes, the boy gave him a look to see if he was telling the truth or just trying to make him feel better, but quickly decided it was the latter and climbed up into his brother's lap with a yawn.

Smiling at his sibling, he scooped him up, and carried him back to his room, smiling as he saw him sleeping soundly.

After heading back to the kitchen table littered in papers, he decided he was going to have to make a tough decision. He needed more work, but also needed more time to get more work.. although it might not look great on an application, and he would be torn up by how much he would miss his friends, he didn't have a choice... he needed to out his family above himself.

He needed to drop out of high-school.

This is not a full chapter. This is a preview of the chapter I plan on finishing tomorrow. I am very very tired since I stayed up late last night and got up very early today, and don't want to overwork myself. But I felt bad about not giving you guys anything. So I made this preview for the next chapter. I hope it was good and please feel free to give any theories or ideas if you would like to. I love feedback! Anyway, I'll see you guys tomorrow. Bye!
