So a minor change to the story, which I will edit from the original shortly. Elizabeth is now Liz and you'll understand why when I finish this two or three part story. Also I'm so sorry I haven't updated this in so long! I really liked the story but actually forgot about it! ^^" I'll make sure the updates are a little more frequent from now on and I'm gonna try to update the old ones that I forgot about.

Meliodas had expected the odd girl he had met previously to simply move on quickly as she adjusted to the schedule and made new and better friends. However much to his surprise, every day he went back to school she would be there and greet him.

At first he thought maybe she was mocking him or something, especially because she kept doing a weird thing with her face that he vaguely remembered. Was it a snarl? Wait- no that's not it... Some sort of crying face? No there weren't any tears... So what was it? Why was she so weird?

Oh, maybe that was why she stuck around him. She must've been retarded. Yes that's it, no one normal would ever even approach him unless they were crazy or stupid. He'd have to ask after school. The blond had been invited to go get ice-cream and had the day off from his... job. So he agreed, thinking it would be a good opportunity to ask. (I AM SO SORRY IF THIS IS OFFENSIVE!!! I swear I felt horrible when writing this part and it's purely the character's mind going on here. I DONT think like this whatsoever. I'm so sorry. T.T)

Gathering the small amount of money he was given for his... work that his foster parents gave him, Meliodas headed out and ignored the sounds of his foster parents having some... fun, together.

I wonder if she's going to stand me up? Probably. It would be a good prank and I'm sure some kids would get a kick out of it. After all, that's all I am. A great joke! A good laugh! Hahaha.... Hahaha! Pfft- HAHAHA!!!!!!

The thoughts turned into words and sounds as he started laughing uncontrollably on his way to the park.

Sometimes he didn't even know why he was laughing. Sometimes, he didn't even want to laugh and instead wanted to cry. Yet only laughter came out, as if that's all he could do.

Maybe it's because I'm not worth enough for my body to feel bad for me. Yeah that's probably it. I'm so insignificant and worthless that my body makes me laugh when I'm sad instead of cry because I'm not worth the tears!

Feeling proud that he figured it out, the boy praised himself mentally with a small smile on his face before arriving at the park bench the girl was waiting at.

Making the weird face again, she turned to him and responded in much too cheery of a tone to be talking to him. It was like she was happy to see him or something. It was so odd...

"Hey Meliodas! I'm glad you could make it today. I decided to wait to order anything until you got here. They have all sorts of flavors though!"

She.. showed up? And waited for me? There has to be something wrong with her. Or maybe she's just trying to see how far she can drag out the joke?

Not answering her as he tried to figure out this puzzle, the blond walked up to the stand and ordered what he did every time.

One banana split with two spoons. But that part he always had to remind the lady serving it. For some reason she would always give him one spoon. How was he supposed to eat that whole thing himself?! Part of it was for Zeldris. It was his favorite after all.

Making sure he got the extra spoon, the boy sat down and made sure he had an empty seat next to him for Zeldris when he showed up. He must be late. After all, Meliodas always went here with his brother. Where else would the boy have been?

Frowning as a little bit of time passed and the boy still wasn't there, he ignored the look Liz gave him as his ice cream began to melt and Zeldris still hadn't come.

"Aren't you going to eat Meliodas?"

"But Zeldris isn't here yet... that's not like him. He always eats here with me. Why isn't he here yet?"

Not noticing the concerned and pitying look the girl was giving him, he kept stating at the empty seat and felt like there was something he was forgetting.

"Well, why don't you eat until he gets here? Surely you don't want the ice cream to go to waste. After all, it's gonna melt soon!"

Blinking at the concern she had for him and the weird look on her face, he finally decided to ask what had been puzzling him since meeting her.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Sure! Anything."

"Are you stupid?"

He watched with a confused look and a slightly tilted head as she nearly spit out her bite of ice cream when he said that. Not understanding the reaction one bit.

"W-Why do you ask something l-like that?"

"Well you still foolishly hang out with me even though you'll just get bullied by doing so, and for some reason you keep looking at me with a weird expression on your face. I just don't understand why unless maybe you're stupid, crazy, or slow."

Watching as she had mouth agape and seemed to take a moment to regain her composure, the boy continued to wait for his answer.

"Y-You think... someone would only want to be around you if they were... stupid?"

Not understanding why she seemed upset when saying that, his answer was the only one in his mind he could make.

"Well, yeah."

She frowned and stood up.

Did I make her angry? Whoops. I tried to warn her I'm a screw up.

Instead of walking away like he thought she would, she leaned down to him and had tears in her eyes before responding.

"You aren't a failure, you aren't a screw up, and you aren't someone only slow people would tolerate. I don't know what or who put that into your mind, bit it isn't true. I enjoy your company, and I'm not going anywhere until you need me to. Alright Meliodas?"

He nodded, feeling an odd feeling in his chest and something warm on his cheeks for some reason. What was that? Oh. It was tears. He was crying. Why did that make him cry?

Maybe she made my body care enough to cry. She keeps making me feel weird things. But.. I kind of like it.

Sorry if this is a little scattered. There's probably only going to be one or two more parts of this. I hope you enjoyed the chapter! (:
