#58 Going Back (Part 2)

Double update since you guys were so patient!

Several emotions hit the demon as so many familiar things filled his senses. The dull colors of the demon realm, the lack of plants and life other then demons, the sounds of screaming demons and tortured humans filling the place...

He used to call this place home, but now all he saw was a sad, broken realm that was filled with anguish and miserable people.

Taken out of his thoughts by the sound of his brother's voice, he made sure to keep his eyes hard when looking at him.

"We should get you ready. Those tavern clothes aren't going to cut it. After all, everyone is going to want to see you after hearing you've come back."

Scowling at the other, he didn't reply as he kept walking. Although he knew for sure that just made Estarossa even happier as it was an expression he used to wear all the time.

I can't believe I'm back.. A three thousand year war between me and Elizabeth vs them over in an instant. Oh well, at least everyone is safe. There's no way they can get through the barrier so I don't think there's much chance of them fighting. Besides... I doubt any of them would come for me anyway. I'm the thing they hate most and the thing they've been fighting...

I'm a demon, and now... I'm the leader of the Ten Commandments once more..

"What are we doing!? We have to go after them!"

"It's impossible, we don't don't know where they went. Besides, the deal was that we're safe as long as we don't interfere, do you really think Meliodas would be happy with us letting that be in vain? He made his choice, there's nothing we can do."

"You're just saying that because you hate him now that you know what he is!"

King winced at that and looked down.

"Look, I may not be thrilled with finding out he's the very thing we've been fighting, but... I can't deny that he just sacrificed everything to save us. I may not have the trust I used to in him, but I could tell in his eyes that he didn't want to go back. For whatever reason.. he isn't like the others, at least not anymore. Regardless of how we- I- treated him, he still chose to save me, I'm not going to let his choice be in vain because I'm being selfish."

They were all shocked by the fairy's words. Although most of them felt the same way. They were shocked and some even scared after finding out what their captain was, but regardless of that, he was still their captain. He was the person who saw passed all of their sins and gave them purpose again. And yet he was willing to go back to his own sins just to save them. So why couldn't they see passed his?

"That's bullshit!"

All of them looked at Ban in shock. Why was he saying that after such a touching moment?

"B-Ban, wha-"

"You really want to "honor his wishes" by giving up on him?! If it were him, he'd NEVER give up on us! He didn't after ten years of being separated did he!? I'm not gonna just stand here and let the Cap'n go back to that hell of a life because it was "his choice". Guess what pal!? I can make choices too! He chose to save my life and I'm gonna choose to spend part of it saving him! So follow me if ya want, but I'm getting the captain back one way or another!"

He walked off with his head held high and a determination in his crimson eyes they hadn't seen before. However Merlin wasn't willing to just watch him go like the others.

"Ban, wait."

"I'm not gonna let you talk me out of it Merlin so don't even try-!"

"Actually I completely agree with you. However I also know you'll get yourself killed doing it the way you are now which would be a waste. So why don't we usw the plan I already came up with and all go together?"

It took a minute for the shocking words to sink in since it wasn't often she agreed with someone unless it was her idea from the start, however soon he walked back and one by one the sins all agreed. Listening carefully to her plan as they all knew that one way or another, they were going to get their captain back.

"Okay, do you all know the plan?"

They nodded.

"Very well, then let's g-"

"Wait!"

Elizabeth interrupted them as Merlin almost cast the spell.

"Princess Elizabeth, you need to stay here. It's too dangerous to go with us."

"Merlin, don't talk to your Sis-Sis like that."

They all froze.

"SIS-SIS!!!!????"

A sad glint covered Merlin's eyes as she sighed.

"I see, the events must've triggered your memories..."

She nodded. (I know this isn't very accurate since she would go unconscious as they come back bit by bit but hey, it's a fanfic.)

"I refuse to let Meliodas go back to that. Especially when I know I can help bring him back. We both know he'll listen to me, and my abilities will be able to help against the demons. You need me to come with, Merlin."

Once again the woman sighed, feeling deeply sad at knowing what would likely happen if she came as well.

"You know that most likely, you won't come back Sis-Sis, don't you..."

"Yes, but that is a risk I have to take. I won't let the man I love go back to something he's so terrified of."

The sins were beyond confused at this point. Man she loves? Sis-Sis? Powers? The calm aura about Elizabeth? The fact that she might not make it back? WHAT WAS HAPPENING???!!!

Giving a sad look to her friends who were bombarding her with questions, she held up her hand for silence before giving a sweet smile and answering with only one sentence.

"I know this is a lot to handle, and unfortunately we don't have time to explain, however just know that I am still the Elizabeth you all know, just... with forgotten memories as well."

This silenced them as they all knew they were all scarce for time, however as soon as everything was settled, they all had a lot of questions to ask.

"Alright, then let's go. Close your eyes everyone.. trust me, you won't want to look at the demon realm head on at first."

More chapters of this to come! Sorry it's not my best, however I'll keep writing more of this later. The next one will be about Meliodas and the others reacting to him being back. Maybe brotherly fluff? Maybe not? I'm not sure yet. Hope you like it!
