Set back during the holy war. Elizabeth and Meliodas are somewhat friends, but not in a romantic relationship... yet. >:)

Elizabeth had played this game many times before. It was simple, a perfect mix of strategy and luck. Something she enjoyed.

Until now.

The rules were simple. Several strings would be tangled and tied together on a stand by one of the players. The other would try to pick which color ribbon would undo the knot and untangle the string. She rarely lost on either sides of this game, but now that she was against Meliodas, a master of deception; she was losing almost every match.

"That's it! You have to be cheating somehow! How do you keep tangling it so well!? And how do you always guess!"

"It's not very hard. This game is child's play."

"Oh really!? Then how about we make it a bit more challenging."

"I'm listening."

"We make all of the strings the same color, and hide when we tangle it. You won't be laughing so much once we do that!"

"Alright, deal. But if we're going to make this more of a challenge, why don't we have some consequences for the loser."

"What kind?"

"These cards are magic, and will randomly generate a little dot on a part of the picture of this human. We use it in torture for interrogation purposes. However in this game, it can prove to make things more interesting. For example, when you inevitably lose, I will activate a card and flick you wherever the card lands; like the arm or the forehead. Other punishments can occur as well, however that is just an example of one you can pick."

"Very well, deal!"

"Alright, then let's start."

The game continued like planned with Meliodas still somehow winning every turn. It didn't matter how complicated the pattern or how well thought out her picks were, he always won. She swore she'd have bruises from how many times she'd been flicked in the forehead, arms, and stomach. Yet she still continued out of pure stubbornness and the drive to protect the remainder of her pride. That is until she finally won a round and got the worst possible spot.

The little dot landed on the lips. Not the general face, not the chin or the cheek or anything similar. No, she got the lips.

And there was honestly only one thing she could think of to do with that one. Something she had been denying her want to do for awhile now as her feelings for him went beyond platonic in their growing friendship.

"What's wrong Elizabeth? I thought you'd be jumping up and down once you finally won one."

"I-I'm fine. Just a bit tired after all of these games, why don't we call it a night and pick it back up later, okay?"

He squinted at her suspicious behavior and smirked when he saw her fidget.

"You are a HORRIBLE liar, Elizabeth. Why do you want to quit now when you finally won?"

"N-No reason."

He rolled his eyes and took the card before she could protest and stared blankly at it.

"I-It's not a big deal. We don't have to do anything this round. Why don't we just go to bed or play a different game, alright?"

She continued blabbering on about different things to do and about how much they didn't need to do anything for that round, until eventually her embarrassing rambles were cut off by a hand pulling her face towards his while a smirk covered his breathtaking features.

"You talk a lot when you're nervous."

He kissed her gently while her body sent off fireworks through her nerves from the sensation. It was so soft and gentle even though it came from one of the most brutal demons in the realms; and she immediately relaxed from it as her eyes fluttered closed.

It only lasted a second before he pulled away, and she just sat there completely stunned. Not only by what just happened, but because this was also the first time Elizabeth had seen him with his mark down, revealing two beautiful emerald eyes and a softness in them that looked completely stranger to her. She wouldn't have recognized him if it weren't for the smirk he wore as well.

"Y-You... W-We just- Y-Your eyes."

She couldn't form a full sentence as his smile only grew.

"Well now I know how to shut you up when you ramble like that. Hehe.."

"S-Shut up! You just- we just- y-you just kissed me!"

"Yeah, so?"

"S-So! That's a big deal. W-What would my mother say!? What about your father-"

"What do you say?"

"H-Huh?"

"Well, did you like it?"

She blushed and looked down.

"I-I... d-d-didn't no-ot li-ike it.."

"Do you like that it was with me?"

No reply, but her blushed brightened.

"Well, then what does it matter? You liked it, you liked that it was with me, I liked that it was with you, so who the hell cares?"

She continued to blush but didn't say a word. She knew it was a big deal, and that it made things much more complicated than how Meliodas said, but she also knew that he knew that as well even if he didn't voice it; which made this somehow easier. If he of all people thought this could work regardless of challenges, then why not try?

Sorry if this isn't my best, but I hope you liked this chapter! Was inspired by a Manga part of something else. (3
