#96 A Late Valentines Day One-shot!

There are some slight plot changes here. (SPOILERS)

Instead of Ban giving up his immortality for Elaine, she's kept alive by a permanent version of Melascula's spell. Her attachment to Ban is what keeps her alive. Why? Because I want to. ;P

Elaine was often nervous and bashful around her beloved Ban. Between his big personality and bold comments to her, how could she not be!? She may have lived several of his lifetimes, but she was still a modest girl who was dealing with new sensations when it came to love.

And that was one of the biggest reasons she wanted to celebrate a human holiday previously she had only heard of from Helbram.

A culture she had seen as silly and dangerous before was now something she yearned to know more about.

Because even with Ban's immortality, he came from the human race, and she wanted to be a part of his world as much as he had given to hers. Which was why she had gone to Diane and Elizabeth for advice on what to get her beloved during this time of the year. They both had lovers of their own after all, and not only had Diane lived in the human realm for quite awhile, Elizabeth was a human girl herself! So hopefully the two could give her some help in this department.

"Oh! You want to know more about Valentines Day? Well, Giants have something like that, but it's um... i-it's usually only to make um... t-to.."

The girl cut herself off while twirling her pigtails, a bright blush covering her face that was more than enough to convey what that particular day was for.

"Well um.. t-to be honest I'm not doing much with Meliodas today because he doesn't celebrate the day. B-But I am still giving him a gift! P-Perhaps you could do the same?"

"A gift?"

"Y-Yeah! It could be flowers, or some sort of food he likes, or anything really! Something special for him."

Those words continued to echo around in Elaine's mind long after she has separated from the other girls.

Something that Ban likes... what could that be? Oh! He loves Ale. That was one of the main things we talked about after first meeting! But... he can get that any time he wants.. He has a whole stash already in fact.. I have NO idea what to get him!

Feeling glum at the thought, Elaine continued floating next to the little carts advertising their wares with no interest in any of them as she already knew Ban wouldn't have any desire for any of the things here.

Ahhh I really wanted to do something nice for him! But I can't find a thing... I guess I can go home and just- what's that?

It had taken nearly twenty minutes, but Elaine had finally gotten home by flight with her heart beating as fast as her thoughts racing through her head.

I can't believe I found it! I can't believe I got him something THIS perfect! I feel so silly for not thinking of it earlier!!!

It was a recipe book like the one he had mentioned when they had first met. Not only was it filled with amazing foods that made her nearly drool to see, but it also contained recipes on how to make different Ales! Some of which hadn't had even been in his scrapbook from when they met! She knew that he'd love it. Or at least... she hoped so...

Oh no, what if he already had it? She had been gone a very long time after all, what if she hadn't been paying close attention and he had the book already!? What if this wasn't something seen as acceptable for a Valentines Day gift? Elaine had seen many others give chocolate or flowers, perhaps that was what was expected? Oh why didn't she do flowers!?
