"This way."

"How are we going to get away Meliodas? Hundreds of Demon guards are surrounding us and know that you let me out of prison! What if they hurt you-"

"Don't worry about me Ellie, we just need to get you out. There's a passageway through these halls that should get you out undetected."

Watching as the demon looked though the walls for a loose stone, the silence started to get to overwhelming as realization about what would happen to Meliodas set in on the goddesses mind.

"You'll be reset... won't you?"

He paused in his search, not giving her an answer but not needing to as the reaction was enough.

"M-Meli... No! I won't leave you to that fate! I-I won't let you do this!"

Hearing the guards whispers of "this way" and footsteps that were getting closer, Meliodas quickly found the hidden stone that activated the entrance and grabbed her wrist.

"There's no time... You need to go Ellie."

"No! I won't leave you!"

Watching the guards come around the corner with tears blurring her vision, Meliodas used his grip on her wrist to shove her into the passageway as he closed it, it shutting slowly as a sad look covered his features.

"Remember robin Elizabeth... Goodbye."

Before the goddess could get back over to him, it shut entirely in time for the guards to miss the exchange and lose sight of the goddess.

Surrounding the traitorous demon with swords and magic weapon in hand to be used, the guards pushed Meliodas to his knees as one of the swords was shoved against his neck.

"Where is the girl, traitor?"

The Captain's voice was low and venomous but Meliodas didn't react to it, saying one last thing before an order was given.

"I'll never tell the likes of you. Tell my father he can burn in the ashes of purgatory. Along with every last one of you guards."

His tone never wavering even as the guards grew furious, a wave of fear and resignation to his fate hit the blond as the thing he was dreading and expecting was said.

"That's it. Reset him."

That was the last thing he heard before the magic weapon was pressed against his neck.

Meliodas was in a very foul mood. His father had just given him a new mission. A very very infuriating and disgusting mission.

He was to work with a goddess to help destroy vampire forces trying to overthrow Demon rule. The only reason goddesses were being brought in- a stupid and irritating reason to the demon- was because the humans they protected were being slaughtered in a threat by Vampires.

Therefore, even though he was perfectly capable of stopping measly vampires by himself, even though goddesses were infuriating and idiots, and even though he was very very unhappy with this order, Meliodas was being forced to work with a goddess to stop this in name of the peace treaty the clans had. (Basically stating if one gets attacked the other must help and that one cannot attack the other.)

So with the foul mood only growing as he kept replaying this order again and again, the demon avoided all people who came into his path and immediately traveled to where his father instructed him to meet this goddess. Deciding it would be best to get this over with as quickly as possible.

Landing after a quick flight filled with curse words and muttering as he got some of his anger out, the demon scowled at the forest around him, looking for the pathetic creature he'd be working with.

"Meliodas? Firstborn of the Demon King? My name is Elizabeth, I was told to-"

The girl was cut off as in a flash he had her pinned to a tree with the tip of his sword pointed dangerously at her neck.

"Listen goddess and listen well.."

There was enough venom in his voice to make even the most heartless creatures cower and the glare his eyes had was terrifying enough to make the goddess in front of him witnessing it shake.

"I do not want nor need your help on this mission. The only reason I'm doing this is because it was an order from my father. Which means I also don't mind disposing of you if you get in my way or act out even slightly.  I do not tolerate stupidity nor talk back and I want to make it very, very clear that one wrong move and I will kill you without a second thought. Is that clear to you or do you need reassurance because I can tell you here and now that I don't care about the peace treaty and am in bad enough of a mood to end your life without thinking twice about it. Got it?"

She nodded, not saying a word as fear was in her eyes and the knife was nearly cutting into her skin.

Pleased by her compliance and lack of talking back, he let her go and started walking away, knowing the camp they were heading to was east.

Her following a good distance behind, Meliodas was a little shocked that she hadn't yelled for his behavior like other annoying goddesses would have and that she seemed to get the whole concept of "stay out of my way" pretty well.

Feeling his anger waver slightly as this might go better then he thought, the blond did his best to track the vampires, having no idea how much that "annoying goddess" or "ridiculous mission" would change everything...

I decidedly to put this in parts. Hope you enjoyed! (3
