#41 Snuggle Me!

I'm literally just going with this. I don't even know.

"EEElllliiiieeeee........"

The girl in question sighed as she tried but failed to get some work done.

"Meli, you of all people know we need to get this cake ready for my father's birthday tomorrow. Everyone in the kingdom will be there."

"But I want cuddles...."

He gave her the puppy dog eyes and reached his arms out towards her like a cat, lightly poking her with them to get her attention.

She laughed at his childish attempt and gave him some head pats before walking off.

Nooooo! I do not want head pats, I want cuddles damn it!

Giving a pouting groan, he hopped up from his seat and jumped on her back, nearly knocking her over.

"Ellliiiiieeeee.... give me cuddles."

"M-Mel I'm gonna drop the frosting! Get down!"

"No."

He kissed her cheek and hugged her from his spot on her back to which he was clinging on with the strength he was known for.

"Please Meli... I really want to get this done."

He pouted before getting down, continuing his pout as she worked to get the cake done.

It wasn't until an hour later that she finally managed to put the cake in the oven to bake, Meliodas still mad and pouting all the while.

She walked over to him and gave the gentle smile that was part of the reason he fell for her.

"Are you still mad at me Mel?"

He turned his head, still pouting.

"We can cuddle now if you want?"

His eyes lit up as he looked back at her.

"Yay! I want all da snuggles."

He hugged her tightly before picking her up and carrying her to their room. He plopped her on the bed before grabbing several different fluffy blankets and creating a nest of sorts that the two buried themselves in and snuggled.

Normally she would've found his clingy behavior odd, but there was a reason for it.

Demons had a time of year where they would become very needy, possessive, and clingy with their chosen mate. They would create a nest and snuggle with their mate as a way to prevent other males from taking them. It was rare that demons found mates which is why it wasn't more well known, but it was a very adorable trait of them.

It lasted a week, and he was now entering the stage where all he wanted was cuddles, which started on day three. Before he was just incredibly possessive. If someone even looked at her in a way he didn't like they would walk away with a few broken bones.

"Hey Meli?"

"Hmm?"

He looked up from his place buried in her chest that he was using as a pillow.

"I love you."

He purred, actually purred and gave her one of the sweetest smiles she had ever seen.

"I love you too mate. So, so, so much."

He accentuated each "so" with another kiss on her face. His purrs getting even louder as she started petting his hair.

"Do you remember this stuff after it's over Meli?"

He nodded.

"Yeah, even though I'm acting pretty different I'm still me. It's just like a mood swing. Kind of like a period but the mood swings are mainly just me being filled with more love for you then usual and a want for lots of snuggles and hugs. Although I wouldn't mind some chocolate either."

She giggled and kissed his forehead.

"We should cuddle more, even after this time of year is over. You're so warm and comfy..."

He snuggled closer to her as his words became muffled but still audible.

"Agreed."

A comfortable silence fell onto the two as they just appreciated being near one another.

"Hey Meli?"

"Yes love?"

"You're really adorable right now."

"Yeah well I'm always adorable. That's why you fell for me."

He gave her a smug smirk before she just laughed and booped his nose.

"No. I fell for you because of how kind you are behind that tough exterior. You're a big softy deep down and I love it. The good looks and adorableness are just great perks."

He smiled, seeming so much more relaxed then normal. He was opening up so easily now and in such a great mood. It made her happy to see.

"Do you know why I fell for you mate?"

"No, why?"

He gave her a look she could only describe as full of love and pure devotion.

"Because from the moment I met you, I knew I wanted to wake up every day to see that smile and have you by my side though everything. Because I knew as long as I had that, I would be okay."

The words were simple but the meaning meant so much after everything they had gone through together.

Feeling tears in her eyes, she kissed him on the forehead a few times more (something he appreciated greatly) and hugged him as tightly as she could.

"I love you so much Meli... And I'd be glad to spend the rest of my life with you."

This was probably the most random and pointless little story I've ever done. But hey, I'm a sucker for random and pointless fluff. So why not? Hope you liked it!
