Story 1-

Does Roman, a tall and confident man, like Virgil, a small and timid man?

Of course, he does.

It's just that there's nothing between them.

That doesn't stop the people around them from telling them there is.

Neither Virgil, nor his sister Tina, nor Joe, the man in his unit, can say the same thing.

Just to give a little idea of how pervasive jealousy can be, when the photo of Roman and Virgil together is sent to Tina, she looks at it and says that Virgil's better looking than Roman.

Joe, however, is probably one of the only people who believes there is nothing

Prompt 2- Roman and Virgil walked into the woods.

Story 3-

Roman and Virgil walked into the woods.

Miles heard a voice behind him say, "You're welcome to try!"

Miles turned to see Giotto.

"Where is Hal?" Virgil asked.

"No idea.

His assistant is with him."

"What's your plan?" Virgil asked.

"We can find Giotto if we are all there.

We cannot find him, if we are not all there.

We will wait for him to appear," Virgil told Roman.

"If he comes, we will follow him and do whatever we must to prevent his murder.

This means we will ignore everything he says," Virgil finished.

Roman nodded

Story 4-

Roman and Virgil walked into the woods.

"So what are we going to do when we get there?"

Roman asked as they strolled through the tall grass.

"Do you know where your friend is going?"

"He was going to follow the Dormer Path," Virgil said, as he picked up a twig and tossed it into the sky.

"And how would you know that?"

"It's the path they took," Virgil said.

"And I'm good at following things."

Roman tossed another twig into the air.

"We have two choices.

We can follow your friend and hope he finds the fountain, or we can

Prompt 3- Roman and Virgil leaned closer to each other.

Story 5-

Roman and Virgil leaned closer to each other.

"Bene?

Yes.

Bene." Roman exclaimed in celebration.

"Just yesterday, a college girl committed suicide," Virgil shook his head.

"I hear from one of the janitors that she hung herself.

This happened in one of the upstairs classrooms.

That building is a regular death trap."

"Do you know why she did it?" Roman asked.

Virgil frowned.

"Because her boyfriend dumped her.

He was a popular jock, and he embarrassed her in front of all her friends."

"She thought if she died then, people would

Story 6-

Roman and Virgil leaned closer to each other.

Zane closed his eyes.

He felt the loss of energy in the room and frowned.

He had almost reached out to him, but just as he would have touched Roman's shoulder, a fresh wave of pain rippled through him, and he knew he couldn't continue the job.

"You're certain?"

he said.

Roman nodded.

"Whatever happens, don't touch him," Virgil said, holding up his hand.

"Not unless it's a life-or-death emergency."

"I understand," Zane said.

He stood, relieved that he would be able to walk away.
