15: Curse Mark

I grinned at Naruto, he had made it back. And this time, for sure, it was the real Naruto.

"You can have it." Sasuke stated.

"Hm?" the snake lady asked.

Everyone instantly was confused/shocked.

Sasuke fished through his kunai pouch. "The scroll, right? That's what you want!" he said, "alright then! Take it and leave us in peace!"

"Sasuke are you crazy or what? You're just going to hand the scroll over to the enemy? No way, what's wrong with you!" Naruto protested.

"Shut up and stay out of it." Sasuke snapped.

"What?!" Naruto was shocked.

"Very wise...Very sensible." The enemy said, giving some explanation about distracting the enemy with something precious.

"Coward!" I hissed at Sasuke.

"Shut up, Fubuki!" Sasuke growled at me. I clenched my fist.

Sasuke threw the scroll to the lady, Naruto grabbed it and landed next to Sasuke.

"Stop playing the damn hero, just stay out of this and leave it to me!" Sasuke snapped, Naruto punched him in the cheek.

"You're a stupid fool, you don't know what you're doing!" Sasuke snapped.

"I might not know some stupid password, but I know who I am. Do you know who you are? How are we supposed to believe you're who you say you are?" Naruto asked.

"Don't be stupid, that's him!" Sakura protested.

"What kind of nonsense is this? It's me, you loser!" Sasuke snapped.

I thought differently, he was him, but not acting himself. Sasuke would never act like that.

"Liar." Naruto stated. "Liar! You look just like him, you sound just like him, but there's no way you're the Sasuke I know! I don't care how tough a fight you've been through, surrendering! Giving up the scroll! When did Sasuke become a coward? You keep saying I don't understand what's going on but I do! You choked, that's what it is! " Naruto screamed at the silent, but kinda freaked Sasuke. He realized Naruto was right.

"Hmmhmm....Sad but true." the snake said.

"Shut up......SHUT UP!!!!" I shouted at the snake, turning my Kooriamgan on. I slammed her into the tree. She laughed.

"Oh, you're a Mayuko? You already have that strong power. Incredible." she grinned wickedly, her tongue slithering on my neck. I backed up, my kunai nearly cutting her tongue off, she moved it before I could.

"STOP IT, YOU IDIOT!" Sasuke shouted.

"SHUT UP! AT LEAST I'M NOT GIVING UP!" I screamed at Sasuke. I stabbed the lady in the gut, she doubled over for a moment, then laughed. Something hit my pressure point, and I fell off the branch and onto the hard floor below.

"Sasuke, say what you want about Fubuki, or Naruto! That Fubuki's an idiot, or that Naruto's a kid! At least they're doing something! Sasuke? Sasuke!" Sakura shouted at the boy. That was the last thing I heard before the pain knocked me out.

I couldn't move. I couldn't hear. But I could still see.

I smiled, Sasuke listened to Sakura obviously and went after the snake.

I felt the willpower grow strong in me.

Come on, get up! You're lazy!

I got up, throwing insults at myself mentally for backing out early. I got back up the branch and was there unless Sasuke needed help. Sakura was surprised I had gotten back up. Right when the snake lady was going to hit Sasuke, I threw a kunai at her face, making her back up.

Sasuke grinned at me, I nodded. He continued fighting.

Then, a while in after the lady substituted, she started hitting Sasuke badly. My jaw dropped, I looked at Sakura.

"Stay back, right now if you go in you'll only get hurt just as bad." she said, through I could tell her heart ached to save him.

He finally collapsed.

"Oh, Sasuke!" Sakura couldn't help but shout.

She insulted him, I noticed three little balls on the back of her dress. They exploded, causing her to fall forward. Sasuke jumped up and threw shuriken at her, they had strings connected, she was tied to a tree in an instant. Sasuke did a fire jutsu, it directly hit her. She shrieked as the fire engulfed her body.

"You did it!" Sakura said happily. This made me think: Sasuke could kick my ass anytime, any day.

"Sasuke!" Sakura ran to him. "You did it! Are you okay?"

This is when I thought "what the hell are you freaking kidding? He was attacked by a snake lady that looks like a man, and he over exerted himself and his chakra limit!!"

"Don't worry, it's over now." Sakura cooed.

The lady snapped from the lines, her voice changed into male. He wiped the sign of his forehead protector, it was sound village. All of us froze involuntarily with his jutsu.

He stated his name, and that he needed to defeat the sand ninjas. I was pulled out of the jutsu and collapsed near my comrades. Sasuke got bitten in the neck. My eyes widened, I looked at Orochimaru.

He smirked at me.

"I'm afraid I can't join you to my collection. Consider yourself lucky." he said, snickering. I looked at Sasuke, then at Orochimaru in fear.

He left, leaving Sasuke practically crying in pain. I bent down to him, I felt defenseless. He was hurt and I was beat up about it. I still did very much want to be his friend. Sakura grabbed his hand, Sasuke squeezed onto her hand and howled in pain.

"Let go of him." I snapped at Sakura. Alarmed, she let go. I looked through my bag for any healing supplies. None. So instead I held his hand. He leaned on top of me, I looked at Sakura.

"At least while he's leaning on me you can try treating the injury, right?" I asked. Sasuke was shaking on me. I wasn't moving. I was afraid if I did, he'd be in more pain.

"I'll see what I can do." Sakura said, trembling. Sakura rubbed his back, I leant down and kissed Sasuke's cheek.

"It'll be alright." I whispered in his ear, he blacked out. I bit my lip, I didn't realize I had started crying until I tasted the salty streaks that poured down to my lips.

I held Sasuke, I stroked his cheek comfortingly. The whole time, trying to make him feel better. I couldn't do anything else.
