I nearly dropped my kunai, my body paralyzed with shock for a moment. I regained myself after a few seconds.
“Impossible. The Mayuko clan was wiped out. The only survivors of the clan are Elretta Mayuko, Daisuke Mayuko, Michelangelo Mayuko, and me, Fubuki Mayuko. We had no more siblings, except for Tanji Mayuko, who is deceased. Our relatives had no child around your age, and I have never heard your name before. I doubt you are from my clan.” I said, I was confident this girl was not from my clan.
She looked at me with confident eyes, her eyes flashed ice blue for a second. They went back to normal, she put her hands over her eyes and groaned aloud. But I had enough time to see with my own kooriamgan, that she was indeed part of the Mayuko clan. I didn’t know if she was my cousin or my sister. I was going to find out.
Then something hit me. My mom said two of her children were.....
Oh god.
Could this be...
“Follow me.” I commanded.
She let out an exasperated sigh, and stomped her feet. “But I’m too tired!” she whined.
I answered with an ice curdling glare.
“Orrr...We can go now!” she said, laughing nervously. I pointed to the direction of the village, my mouth a straight line. I was trying not to blow up at this girl. She was so young, she wasn’t like everyone else, where I could tell them to shut up and they’d not cry. This girl might.
“How old are you?” I asked, looking at her.
“Fourteen!” she stated happily.
I stopped, turning to look at her.
“You look like your eleven, are you sure you’re fourteen?” I questioned, hands on my hips.
She rolled her eyes.
“Uh huh, nope I think you may be right about my age! I mean, how would I know? I-“
“Don’t be cute with me.” I seethed. She frowned.
“Hey, you okay?”
“No, I have problems.” I sighed. “Walk faster.”
She caught up to me, her eyes curiously on me.
“What are they?”
“Why should I tell you?”
“Because sometimes it’s better to let things out.” she replied, her eyes were soft. I sighed.
“Well, I was in a coma for the longest time. My boyfriend is acting different. I fainted while trying to avenge our clan. And I found out you may be my sister.” I sighed. “My god, what else is going to happen today?”
I kept on walking. A sigh came from the girl.
She started humming to herself.
“Shh.” I sighed.
There was silence for a moment, then she started humming once more.
“SUKI!”
“It’s Yuki.”
“YUKI!”
“What?!”
“STOP humming!”
“Fine....Jeeze...”
There was a silence, we reached the village, I turned to look at her. “Where is your headband?”
She took one out of her pocket, it had the star village symbol on it. It made me feel bad. We left her behind, or we put her up for adoption. Guilt washed over me. She wasn’t included in the massacre, but she missed the family’s greatness. Our family was kind to one another, and we would never talk bad about them. They were so fun and carefree, yet fierce and daring. She never got to see that. She had to witness another family’s habits, or her own.
“Come with me, I will get you a new one from Lady Tsunade, the Hokage.” I said, she nodded.
When we got to Lady Tsunade’s office, Yuki was curiously following.
When I told Tsunade who Yuki was, she was in a state of disbelief. She didn’t believe it, until Yuki tried using the kooriamgan. It faltered, though. I needed to teach her before she accidentally blinded herself. I didn’t know if that was possible, but the way she was using it, it probably would. I told her she could stay at my house. She was too young to live alone, even though I did. I didn’t want her to fend for herself so early, it can really mess you up.
Right now, I needed to tell my clan about her.
I called them over, I was glad to hear they were fine, and they successfully defeated the demon. I told them I wanted them here for comfort, I didn’t tell them about Yuki just yet.
I was curious of what they would say.
Yuki was currently gazing around the house, she was walking barefoot on the cold wooden floors. I could tell she hadn’t been in a home for a while, from the look on her face. I allowed her to shower, and gave her the clothes I wore when I was her age. When she changed and came back down the stairs, I couldn’t help but think she looked like grandpa. She didn’t look old, but grandpa had blue hair and blue eyes.
There was a knock at the door, I let out a breath. I didn’t even tell Yuki what was about to happen.
How would this turn out?
