22: Pain and Interest

The next day, I walked to where the mission would be. I was there early since Sasuke would be. And of course, Sasuke was there. With Sakura and Naruto. Sasuke smirked at me. Naruto saw it and shuddered.

"Can I please tell one person?" Naruto begged. I glared at him.

"No. I don't want to be mobbed by his fan club." I sighed.

"They're scared of you. They know you can kick their ass." Naruto said. I sighed.

I looked at Sasuke. His face was expressionless. So I guess it was up to me.

"Fine." I said.

"SASUKE IS DATING FUBUKI!" he screamed out to the world. Sakura looked at us, eyes wide.

"W-what?" she asked. I looked down. Naruto went to go talk to her, Sasuke wrapped his arms around me. He kissed me, but I pulled away.

"Not in front of Sakura." I said to him, he sighed, then ran his hand through his black locks.

"Okay." he agreed.

"Wow, I didn't know." we heard, we turned to see Kakashi.

"Congradu-" Kakashi stopped when Sakura ran away. Sasuke sighed.

"Go talk to her." I said to Sasuke.

"I don't want to go." Sasuke stated, bluntly.

"You're going, mister." I urged. He sighed.

"No."

"Yes."

"....Fine. I'll talk to her." he said, then started walking to where she ran off to.

"Whipped." Naruto muttered, Sasuke turned around and glared at him.

~~~Sakura's Point of View~~~

I cried, Sasuke was supposed to be mine. Mine and mine only. I can't believe he was with Fubuki. But she was pretty, and strong. Everything that I wasn't. Well, I thought I wasn't any of those things. I looked up when I saw Sasuke coming.

"Hey." he said, he sat down next to me. My cheeks burned, I thought I was going to faint at his very presence.

My eyes were focused on the grass floor, I was sitting on a tree stump I had found under a Cherry Blossom Tree. It was funny, my name meant Cherry Blossom. I smiled slightly at the thought, I turned to look at Sasuke. My heart belonged to him, him only. I sighed.

"I'm fine." I stated sadly, I stood up. Sasuke smirked, I thought I was going to die from that sexy irresistible look.

"I know who would be perfect for you." Sasuke said, then ran his hand through his black, beautiful hair.

"Who?" I asked, doubtful.

"Michelangelo." Sasuke stated, then started to walk back to our team.

Michelangelo? I had only met him once, and caught him training in the forest a couple of times. Oh well, I guess I could give him a shot. Did he like me?

~~~Fubuki's Point of View~~~

I saw Sasuke come back, Sakura following right behind him.

"Well, now that you're all here, I wanted to say that there is no mission really." Kakashi said.

"What do you mean by 'not really'?" I asked, frowning.

"Well, you're the only one involved. Granny Chinatsu asked for your help in the clearing." Kakashi said, his hand pointing to the direction.

I thought of Granny Chinatsu as my own grandma. My eyes lit up. "Granny Chinatsu!" I squeaked. I looked at Sasuke and kissed him while Sakura wasn't looking. Kakashi cringed, Naruto gagged. Sasuke grinned at me, I winked, then left to Granny Chinatsu.

I walked to the clearing, the sun beating down on me. It was fine, it wasn't so hot. Just too bright in my direction. The grass felt funny as it swayed around my feet, blowing softly in the slight breeze. I saw a bump in the distant, and realized Granny Chinatsu was bending down where special herbs were. She wanted help picking them.

I ran over, and wordlessly started helping.

"Deary, my time is up." She said, looking at me sadly.

My eyes widened. "What are you talking about?" I asked.

"Today is my last day, I can feel it." she said in a whisper. I shook my head.

"It can't be." I said, my voice trembling. She reached out and put her cold, aged hand on my cheek.

"You can't stop destiny." she said, she sounded like Neji. I gave a short laugh, but it wasn't a real one, it was a shaky yet trying to keep calm laugh.

There was the sound of clashing kunai, I turned. A kunai was coming straight at me. Granny Chinatsu went in the way right as it was about to pierce my heart. It got her in the chest. She collapsed to the floor. I gasped, bending down to her crippled body.

"Granny Chinatsu, don't die!" I whispered, trying to help her. I didn't know how. She grabbed my hand.

"Don't....Try..." She said, in between gasps. She gave a small smile. "The Mayuko Clan and my clan were on great...Terms.....When your parents died.....They gave me their special powers......Now...I....Give them to....You...." she touched my forehead, I felt a power surge through me. I felt like I was walking on air, this feeling was blissful, it coursed through my veins strongly. My breath was shaky at the sudden change of feeling. Granny Chinatsu smiled up at me.

"I love you, Fubuki." she said, she was like a grandmother to me. Like family. I didn't take this as weird or creepy.

With her last breath, she closed her eyes.

"I love you too, Granny." I said, tears streaming down my cheeks.

The paramedics had told me what I already knew. She was dead. She was buried in the Mayuko burial sight, since she was such a great friend to my clan. I wasn't sure who killed her, they fled without attempting another attack.

I sighed, saying goodbye at her grave. I turned around and saw Shadow looking at me. I smiled sadly, then bent down to him.

"You're mine now, right?" I asked him.

"Yes." he said, catching me off guard. I fell backwards in shock.

"Y-you-" I was cut off.

"Yes, yes. I talk. Man, everyone always does that." he started mimicking people. "Like 'Oh my god, you're a talking dog!'. I find that kind of offensive." he said. "I'm a dog, yes. But am I stupid? No. Anyways, you can either let people hear me or only have you understand me." he said, then he sat down. "I'd rather only you talk to me."

"Whatever you like." I said, eyes wide.

He gave a goofy dog grin. He snuggled into my stomach, I giggled and hugged him.

"Also, you can have me be free and come out when you need me, or force me to stay in one concealed spot." he said. The last option sounded horrible.

"I'll call you when I need you." I said.

"Okay, just scream my name. I always hear my masters, no matter what village, what country, I will hear you." he then looked off into the distance, then back at me.

"You may go." I said, he fled once I let him. I chuckled, what a cute dog.
