“Sasuke!” a sickeningly sweet voice rang, I turned to see Ino had jumped on Sasuke’s back. I wanted to slap her. She was so annoying, she really pissed me off sometimes. She was too bubbly, and one of the head Sasuke fan girls. She would do absolutely anything for Sasuke, even if it meant screwing over her best friends. I had never even wanted to be her friend, though. I knew from the start she was bad sushi.
“Ino pig, get off of Sasuke!” Sakura snapped. Ino stretched the skin under her right eye with her finger, sticking her tongue out. It meant ‘fuck you’. I rolled my eyes.
“Wow, unbelievable how your skin stretches that far. I knew you were grandma status.” I commented, her skin did stretch far under her eye. It was gross. I can’t believe I said that out loud though, Sasuke would think I like him.
Do I?
I sighed.
Thoughts of that later on. Not right now.
“Well at least I don’t look like the grudge, you look horrible with that look.” Ino said, rolling her eyes at me.
My anger flashed, I grabbed her by the ponytail and slammed her against the wall.
“What was that?” I asked, angrily.
“I’m s-s-sorry!” Ino stuttered, I let her go. She dropped to the floor.
“That’s what I thought.” I said, then walked away. I had just noticed a grey haired boy talking to my squad. He had glasses. I didn’t have a good feeling about him. I walked up cautiously, he had ninja info cards.
“This is Kabuto.” Sakura said, pointing to him. I locked eyes with Kabuto.
“Fubuki Mayuko.” I greeted myself, in a murmur. He nodded, then looked at his cards again. I wonder if I was in there. Probably was.
Well, we ended up going into a test room. We had to choose seats.
I sat down somewhere random, people I didn’t even know sat next to me. There were a lot on ninjas in this exam.
The test taker passed out the tests to us, I looked at it. My eyes widened.
I was screwed.
It was stuff about angles, stuff about what position should a ninja stand if there were people around him at certain spots. Stuff us genin shouldn’t have known. I saw some people writing down, I sighed. I decided the only option was to cheat.
I turned on my Kooriame and searched a boy’s paper, then closed my eyes. The kooriame had photographic memory. I started jotting down the answers the boy had. I had only needed to glance for one second, so I knew I wasn’t caught. I had made it seem so carefree.
Well, eventually, the man told us times up.
I smirked, I was going to pass.
Then, he said something about a final question. If we chose to answer the question, we’d have to get it right or we’d get a zero. Or, we could back down right now. The catch was, if we answered the question wrong, we’d get dropped from ever redoing the chunin exams. I wanted to jump up with every one else and protest on how bogus this was, but I bit my tongue.
“Whoever wants to back down, raise your hand. Not only you, but your teammates won’t be able to pass.”
A lot of people raised their hand, shocking me.
Should I?
No, a ninja never hides. I wouldn’t hide from this question.
I saw Naruto raise his hand, shock ran through me.
He then slammed his hand down.
“Don’t underestimate me! I don’t quit and I don’t run! You can act tough all you want, you guys aren’t going to scare me! No way! I don’t care if I do get stuck as a genin for the rest of my life!” he stood up. “I’ll still be Hokage someday!”
Damn straight.
I smiled, happy with my decision to take the question.
“You all passed!” the man said. He gave this big explanation [author note: yeah I know I’m not putting everyone’s quotes. I don’t need to, you know what happens. I am not repeating it, because I know if I read something which I already knew happened I would get no joy].
Something crashed through the window, a woman stood there enthusiastically, proudly stating her place.
Her name was Anko. The man had told her that she had jumped the gun again, making her upset. We had to follow her to the next event. I got up and walked, noticing I was right next to Sasuke.
“Hey.” I said, he turned away.
“Tch.” he scoffed. I was giving him a little talk later.
When we arrived, Anko explained this place as the forest of death. I hated the name, it made me skin crawl in displeasure. It wasnn’t until Naruto was chased by a square stack of ‘rocks’ that we took a break, apparently for an interview. This should be interesting. While Naruto was being interviewed, I brought Sasuke to the other side of the field, where no one was.
“What do you want?” he snapped.
“I want to know what the fuck is going on! Why are you being a dick to me all of a sudden?”
“I’m not supposed to gain friends. I have one goal, and that’s it. To kill Itachi. I don’t have time to talk to a pathetic girl.” he snapped at me, his face close to mine. My eyes glared into his.
“Yeah well then I don’t care. I don’t need a pathetic Uchiha in my presence. You’re an emo cocky bastard who’ll never see-.....” I bit my lip, stopping myself from saying it.
“See what? What will I never see?”
“Forget it.” I walked away, as the scrolls were being passed around. We stood at the gate, words were still in my head.
He would never see that this friendship lost would kill me slowly. I couldn’t be able to take it.
I would blame myself and everything about me.
I’d never talk to him again, I swore I wouldn’t.
