35: Full Power

When we got back to the base, I collapsed on the couch.
“Are you fucking serious?” Hidan asked, rolling his violet eyes. “That was the easiest mission we’ve been on for a long time.”
I sat up and showed my leg, which was damaged by poison. I felt the couch sink from next to me. I turned to see Sasori.
“Let me see your leg.” he demanded.
I gave him a suspicious look. He shook his head.
“I’m good with poison.” he explained. I nodded, then moved my leg over. He looked at it, then took something out of one of his puppet’s pouch. He stabbed me with it in the leg, I bit my tongue to hold back a shout. My eyes squinted slightly in pain, my mouth a frown.
He looked up.
“There.” he said, then moved my leg back. I nodded in thanks, then stood up and walked outside. I looked around, and decided I would train to strengthen my kooriamgan’s second stage. I started training hard, until I collapsed on the floor.
A vision flashed through my head, and a brilliant idea.
I ran to leader-sama’s room and opened the door, he looked up from his paper work.
“Yes, Fubuki?” he asked, slightly annoyed. Probably because I didn’t knock.
“I would like a certain mission.” I explained, walking up and putting my hand on his desk. He raised an eyebrow at me, questioningly.
I explained to him my vision, and my ideas. His eyes, surprisingly, widened in shock.
“I’ll have you go with Hidan and Kakuzu again.” he confirmed, then thought for a brief moment. “Tomorrow morning.” he replied.
Tomorrow morning, I got ready as soon as possible. Me and my team were up at the same time, so we left at the same time without getting pissed at each other.
“What’s this mission for, Fubuki?” Hidan asked me. I turned to look at him, then back in front of me.
“I realized something.” I said, then paused. “You know how Itachi has the mongekyou sharingan? Well, my clan is really good at genjutsu. I heard some myth in my clan about some special water, but no one knew what it could do. I realize it could do the mongekyou kooriamgan.” I replied.
“What’s so special about it?” Kakuzu asked.
“I don’t know, but I know it’s powerful. I’m planning on finding out.” I replied.
It was silent for a long time, us just jumping from tree to tree, occasionally me and kakuzu knocking out enemies. Hidan couldn’t just simple knock them out, because then he would have to kill them and make a long sacrifice. He already did last night on the way home, and it took a while. Besides, it was gory. I didn’t want to have to see it again.
I sighed, I tripped off a branch and realized I was tired. Before I fell completely out of the tree, I threw a kunai with a strong string up to the top, wrapping it around a branch. I used my momentum to go back on the tree’s massive arm.
“We should sleep here for the night.” I commented, my hand brushing along the tree.
“And what if another team passes by and sees us?” Kakuzu asked.
I turned on my kooriamgan and set a genjutsu around.
“They won’t see us. They’ll think we’re just a part of the tree.” I replied, then lay my head on the hard surface of the tree, I was leaning on it, my eyes fluttered closed. I let out a sigh, how did I end up like this? I had enough jutsu and I was trying to get stronger. Or maybe I was just trying to get my mind off-
Before his name disturbed my thought, I cut them off. I stopped thinking about anything, and took off my cloak. I wore the clothes I had before under from before. Tank top and shorts. I folded my Akatsuki cloak and put my head on it, using it as a pillow. I fell asleep, the soft sounds of the forest lulling me to sleep.
When I woke up, I licked my lips. I was thirsty. I reached in my pouch and grabbed a canteen, drinking thirstily. I then woke up Kakuzu. Hidan was still asleep, but I wanted Kakuzu to wake him. I couldn’t deal with a pissed Hidan on my ass. I’d rather Kakuzu deal with something so troublesome. I stood up, my eyes hardening as I gazed the forest.
I saw a ninja spot us. Shit, my jutsu wore off. I threw a kunai at him, he dodged it. My kooriamgan was still on, I decided to always have it on for now. I knew he was right behind me, trying a sneak attack.
I did a lightning jutsu, electrifying him before he could touch me. I wordlessly motioned at Kakuzu to Hidan, ignoring the fact I was just attacked. I glanced at the dead ninja, looking at his headband sign. He was from Hoshigakure. Good, we were almost there.
“WHAT THE FUCK, KAKUZU! I WAS FUCKING SLEEPING!” I flinched at Hidan’s booming voice, and turned to see Hidan take out his scythe threateningly at Kakuzu. Kakuzu’s eyes flashed angrily.
“Cool it.” I snapped coldly, they stopped and looked at me. I started going in the direction of Hoshigakure, they followed behind me wordlessly. Odd, how I could make S-ranked criminals follow my orders. I was only a mere chunin, yet with my strength I could pass for jounin, or at least ANBU by now. I didn’t know who I was stronger than, so I didn’t know my true strength. How deadly I was.
Maybe, not even deadly at all. Just knowledgeable.
We reached Hoshigakure, the village bringing back heart melting memories. I remembered the last time I came here. When I found Mikey. I didn’t smile at the thought, just closed my eyes in the warm embrace of the memory. I wondered how Mikey was doing, and how he was taking my disappearance. I hadn’t been home in a long time.
I walked in the Mayuko compounds, my comrades following. I didn’t care for them at the moment, I only cared for my mission right now. I looked throughout my fouse and walked into the main building. The one with all the memories of my clan, the one that people often went to to gaze at historical items of my clan’s. I walked up to a certain chest, and unlocked it with a key that had been stored under my parents bed. I found it with my skilled kekkei geknai. I opened the chest and took out the water.
I drank it, and a power surged through me that I couldn’t stop.
I stood up, Hidan and Kakuzu backed up a little in shock. I looked at my hands, they were glowing.
I had reached my full Mayuko power, I knew my family was proud of me.
I smiled. I hadn’t smiled like this in a long time...
