Eddy entered the bedroom which was more of a personal gym, where Alex was brooding, "Hey, Alex...Are you okay?"
He sat by him with the plate in his lap. Alex sighed and looked at Eddy, "I'm okay, I just can't understand how that guy can't like you. Not like I held a grudge for him actually shooting you. ""People are entitled not to like me, and think of it this way, despite not liking me he was willing to accept you into his home. Which is a really nice thing to do," Eddy knew it was only because Brett asked, but he didn't need to give that detail, "You might not like it but it won't hurt to be a little nicer and not argue with him."
Eddy placed his hand on Alex's thigh, gently rubbing along it with his calloused fingertips, he wanted to calm him down. His prickly cactus was surprisingly sensitive when Eddy was the subject matter. Eddy knew it was only because he was the alive person that Alex clung to most. For so long it seemed like they just had each other, it was time to rely on others now. Even if they may not be ready for it just yet.
Alex frowned but he nodded, "Okay I will try to be nicer."
It was hard for him to socialize with people that he didn't intend to kill honestly. He could fake something but genuine connections just weren't natural to him. He had been born into the organization and his life's purpose was to be a killer. He knew nothing else besides the normalcy he once had with Eddy until the organization ruined that. They stepped into their safe place and screwed that over.
"Good, he's probably a nice guy." Eddy didn't actually know, but he didn't hold grudges either. The older man was just doing his job when he had shot Eddy. Not like it was the first time he got shot either. It was just life. Either he would be hated or loved, in the end it didn't really matter, "Just gotta give him a chance. Okay?"
Alex nodded again, "Okay."
He was a rebellious soul when it came to most, not liking to feel like he was being controlled, although he was. Yet when it came to Eddy he could bring himself to listen. Listening to someone who knew better wasn't a bad thing. Alex would try to learn from what Eddy already knew. Socializing was just hard, especially with someone who didn't like his romantic partner of five years. It felt like a personal attack at that point because Eddy was a part of him and who he was. If someone attacked Eddy it was like attacking him, so he got defensive very easily even if things weren't a full on attack. It was still very personal to him.
Eddy smiled softly at him, "Now why don't you eat, he put time into making breakfast for you."
He picked up the fork that was on the plate, putting it in the smaller man's hand and making him curl his fingers around it. Neither of them were always used to eating with all consideration. They were kept on constant diets and underweight for some reason. Most likely for control and oppressive reasons. Eddy luckily was starting to fill out again with Brett always making sure he was fed. Alas, he probably still wasn't his healthy body weight. That wasn't his focus now, now it was to get Alex to eat something.
Alex wordlessly began to eat what was on the plate. He knew Eddy would call him on his bullshit if he complained about not wanting to eat it. Eddy always had a way of doing that. Eddy was like the Yang to his Yin or more formally for Alex the Yo to his In.Eddy quietly waited until he was done eating before he dropped a bomb, "I think we should walk out and apologize to Victor....I also think we need to talk about our relationship."
Alex knew they needed to talk about their relationship because with the circumstances prior, he technically broke things off. But now they were together again in somewhat better circumstances. However, this didn't mean anything changed. Alex felt his heart drop into his stomach. He didn't feel ready to talk about this, Eddy had such soft eyes and a soft look on his face though. Alex couldn't deny it or avoid it forever, so quietly they got up and shuffled to the living room to talk.
