Once again, Eddy's eyes blinked open. He had been in and out of sleep throughout the day and the start of the night. Now he couldn't any longer, his body wouldn't let him rest.

His gaze was now clearer as it drifted up to Brett. He hadn't removed himself from the man, despite not being quite present. Even when unconscious he knew what he wanted.

"Hey," Brett said softly, brushing Eddy's bangs out of his face. It honestly felt like he was doing something bad, lying here with Eddy resting in his arms like they were...

Brett didn't continue the thought. They weren't. They were barely friends. Brett was Eddy's captor. Sure, they had a friendly tone now, but that didn't change what he had done to Eddy.

"Would you like some water again?" he asked softly, carefully feeling his forehead to check the temperature. It seemed to have gone down ever so slightly.

"Hey," Eddy replied back with a soft gaze, the word was so simple yet so welcoming, "Yes please. I feel dry."

He felt like a fish out of water, he needed the liquid or he'd die! Although Eddy was sure that his thoughts were just being over dramatic.

It was difficult to lean over to the glass as he tried to not stir Eddy more than necessary, but Brett somehow managed. He got the glass that Ray now had put a straw in and carefully held it for Eddy so he could drink.

"Here you go. I had Ray get some ice cubes for you too, so it'd stay cold," he said softly.

"Thank you, Bretty," Eddy spoke before wrapping his lips around the straw. He felt like a child with how Brett was taking care of him. If he was a normal self respecting adult, maybe he'd be offended. But it turned out being put through hell made a person starved for any kind of affection. Not to mention Eddy liked being taken care of because it was a rarity.

Brett watched him drink, making sure to support his back and hold the glass steady.

"Don't worry about emptying it, I'll have someone refill it if you do," he said softly.

Eddy glanced up at him to acknowledge the man spoke, as for him he kept sipping. He made sure not to chug it or he may throw up. Which would be plausible but with moderation he could decrease the likelihood. After a moment he released the straw, "Okay I won't worry about it. Again, thank you."

"It's no problem at all, Eddy. I just want you to get better," Brett said softly, carefully putting the glass away again.

"I really appreciate it though," Eddy spoke warmly as he watched Brett, he didn't do much, simply watched. He found some solace in observing the man, "Did Ray go?"

"He's just out getting us some food," Brett said softly. "He's been worried, so I needed to give him something to do."

"I almost feel bad for worrying you both," Eddy sighed, it couldn't be helped though sadly, "What kind of food?"

He decided to focus more so on that aspect than his own guilt.

"You don't have to feel bad about anything, Eddy," Brett assured softly. "And uh, some noodles."

Eddy wondered if the noodles would sit too heavy on his empty stomach. He didn't want to complain about it though so he wouldn't open his mouth on the matter, "I do though, since I am taking all your time."

He sighed as he leaned against Brett more.

"This is time well spent," Brett said softly, stroking his arm carefully. "You're quite important to me, you know."

He really was. So so important.

"Really? More so than your work? That's pretty important for a company," Eddy was sure he hadn't seen Brett do any work here recently. Man had been mostly with him. Not that Eddy could really complain.
